This is going to rely on either DRG or Nestea breaking their slumps as well as Life performing up to his new raised expectations.

This is also relying on JYP winning a group that has Nestea and Supernova in it.

I don't know, the odds are looking good right now for a Terran heavy RO16. Not that I think that's a bad thing. It's good to see Terran finally bouncing back from a miniature dark age.

And even then Terran heavy or not. Someone still needs to figure out how to get past Seed, otherwise I see no reason why IM won't take another trophy for their trophy case.

Seed is one of the favorites but so are players like Taeja, Squirtle, and others. I don't really see anyone as an overwhelming favorites since there are still so many great players left.

Well to be honest, I'm more talking about this.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_Battle.net_World_Championship

3 Terrans in the round of 32 so far.

Or this.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_DreamHack_Open/Summer

3 Terrans in the Round of 16

Sure Terran has always done well in GSL, (disproportionately so actually) but in the last few months outside of the GSL, Terran has been having a really hard time especially in regards to the WCS.

With MVP winning IEM, and with such a good display of Terran firepower already in GSL Season 4, it's much easier to accept the other results that have been put up lately. Like I said though, it was just a miniature dark age.

Well, when people talked about terran dominance, it was always about the korean terrans. And due to missing qualifiers, getting knocked out early, not playing well in the actually tournament, terrans just didn't perform well in Korea WCS. As for foreign terrans, the top terrans have always been overshadowed by foreign protosses and zergs. For each top foreign terrans, you can probably name 2-3 protosses and zergs.

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR

But really like half of all GSL players are Terrans, so if statistically less than half of them make it through, they're doing poorly. 7/15 is under half, but good try.

Nobody ever takes into account how many Terrans are in the RO32 ;-;

From what I've seen so far in the RO32 and the GSTL. Seed is looking dominant, while Taeja and Squirtle are just looking strong.

However:

Seed managed to avoid playing Leenock (who looks like he's spending time in the hyperbolic time chamber) and Taeja didn't really demonstrate much outside of very strong TvT and the ability to stomp all over poor Mana, so maybe I'm underestimating him.

But from what I've seen so far, Seed looks like more of a favorite than Squirtle or Taeja do currently.

Except since the first season you have to qualify for GSL. So if half the players in GSL are Terran, you already have a problem regardless of the Ro16/32.

Well the KR pro scene is packed with strong Terrrans, it's hard to keep them from getting into all the cracks. There are like maybe 10 good KR Zerg, maybe 10 Protoss, and an endless line of strong Terrans.

EDIT: Yeah I started counting on my hands and got to 6 zerg I can think of who are consistently Code S level before I started pulling names out like NSH_Seal and ST_Line. Not bad players, but not Code S yet.

It's not like lots of Terrans is a problem, who can really say they like watching PvZ and PvP over matchups with Terran in them?

well TvP is no better than ZvP to me...

jyp should advance along with either supernova as 1st, jyp as 2nd or jyp as 1st and life as 2nd, nestea stands hardly a chance, drg should advance becuz all 3 terrans in his group are inconsistent. there are 3 major favorites in this entire tournament which is seed, taeja and squirtle, so seed will have his work cut out for him

I mean the midgame is cool but it always turns into ring around the vortex sooner or later. Meanwhile, in the TvP lategame, storm dodging and EMPs.

squirtle and taeja will be favored when they play against seed, however overall i say best is seed, but as i said becuz his weakest matchup is pvp, and its squirtle's best, and taeja being taeja, he will most probably lose to those 2 if anything
