Looks like Naniwa is back to his old form without the help of team Startale. But, it's sad to know that GOM will give him his 6th free GSL seed.

He's been earning his spots in Code S up until today.

He earned two of them. The first one was given to him through a Code S seed.

If Naniwa wouldn't be a progamer, he would be a serial killer with that look while he's playing.

Also GOM has to distribute Code S seeds again, because with the current skill level no non-Korean progamer will get into Code A, not to mention Code S.

Mana came up through up-and-downs to get into Code S THIS season. But yeah no foreigners can compete in Code A/Code S. I think for foreigners it seems actually qualifying into Code A is the hardest part of all

so while naniwa was beng proclaimed "best foreigner" for two top8 code s finishes and failing terribly in just about every other tournament, people like stephano, mana, nerchio etc were actually winning things....lololol

naniwa's gsl career is over, especially with kespa INC

Wow, so much schadenfreude with regards to Naniwa. It's lame. Get a grip, chaps.

There's a difference betweeen "earning" and "staying". If you give a Korean Code B player 5 free GSL seeds, he would've won a GSL title by now.

This is going to rely on either DRG or Nestea breaking their slumps as well as Life performing up to his new raised expectations.

This is also relying on JYP winning a group that has Nestea and Supernova in it.

I don't know, the odds are looking good right now for a Terran heavy RO16. Not that I think that's a bad thing. It's good to see Terran finally bouncing back from a miniature dark age.

And even then Terran heavy or not. Someone still needs to figure out how to get past Seed, otherwise I see no reason why IM won't take another trophy for their trophy case.

Seed is one of the favorites but so are players like Taeja, Squirtle, and others. I don't really see anyone as an overwhelming favorites since there are still so many great players left.

From what I've seen so far in the RO32 and the GSTL. Seed is looking dominant, while Taeja and Squirtle are just looking strong.

However:

Seed managed to avoid playing Leenock (who looks like he's spending time in the hyperbolic time chamber) and Taeja didn't really demonstrate much outside of very strong TvT and the ability to stomp all over poor Mana, so maybe I'm underestimating him.

But from what I've seen so far, Seed looks like more of a favorite than Squirtle or Taeja do currently.

These are the top 7 player ELOs in Korea.

You live in a strange alternate universe where Squirtle and Taeja are not dominant players, it seems

Lets take the GSL championships of all the players in that top 7 and you have 1/4th the championship of MVP and 1/3 the championships of Nestea.

Statistics of the past don't matter. Winners will win, and other than Seed, these players aren't really winners.

Wouldn't surprise me if Naniwa would retire any moment now.

I really wonder what happened with him and Quantic, I don't actully believes his version of the story, and I say this as a Naniwa fan. I truly hope that Naniwa finds a team soon, or at least somewhere he can practise with a good computer and teammates that, but I am afraid that there are no teams that wants him right now. Really sad because he is the only player I truly root for. Anyways you had a great runt Naniwa in Code S, especially during these dark times for foreigners. You also showed us that you were the only foreigner this year being able to advance in your debut <3

Chyeah. Went to sleep right before game 3 of Heart vs. Sniper. Now time to quote myself.

I think Heart will advance in 2nd today. I was probably the first person ever to hype Heart back in October of last year so I have to stick with him here.

Sniper is scary though, he hasn't shown his best play in Code S and if he manages to bring his A game then he could cruise through this group.

Naniwa is the only one I can't see advancing.

The only 2 players I have ever hyped (Squirtle much more so than Heart) advance together. I must say I am quite impressed with my scouting ability, if any teams want to hire a scout I'm right here waiting.

Except for the part where Leenock and Taeja have indeed won their fair share of foreign tournaments..

Good that we have people like Heart, all these macro games no rush 15 into 1a are really getting boring. This was some nice, reactive and smart play. I am impressed how he always seems to find an opening to take a game that seems lost.
