By.Sun (Going by the ID Rain, probably so he can confuse old sc2 fans  ) caught back up and maxed out at the 15 minute mark with a healthy sentry-immortal-stalker collection. Forcefields were dropped, roaches died, By.Sun convincingly dismantled the pure roach army and strolled through his first game. Bogus vs. FlyingMinerals were mined, Terrans were whined; Both made mistakes but Flying made less. Kind of. Well he won didn't he? And what's with you asking so many questions?! Winners' GameBy.Sun opted for a fast robo while Flying took a quicker DT expand. As with most Kespa pvp matches, it turned into a battle of colossus. By.Sun started his colossii production faster and harder than flying and pushed into his opponents natural but errant positioning and colossus micro (didn't bother target firing and attacked immortals..) lead to a trade heavily in Flyings favor (As well as some defenders advantage from Flyings instantly reinforcing colossus). Flying countered to By.Suns natural and destroyed the remainder from By.Suns failed push. Losers' Game (Courtesy of Asha` or Caihead in the link) Both scout diligently and opt for fast thirds after confirming what the other is doing. Bogus uses a good number of hellions for map control and keeps the creep back for a while. Eventually the hellions die. Macro macro macro as they tech and secure their economies. Important note is that Bogus has faster double upgrades. Soulkey goes for pretty ineffectual late mutas, stalls Bogus big 2/2 timing with a nice burrowed baneling hit at the tower. Bogus still pushes out at near max though and kills the fourth after a good spread in a big engagement. Fourth goes down and lots of units die while Soulkey tries to reach Hive tech. Soulkey can't get there fast enough and Bogus overwhelms him. Final Game

Sun and someone else.
Sun has easily demonstrated the most consistent high level of play ever since the kespa players started SC2 so I think he's a pretty safe call. He does well in PL and in individual stuff so far.
Lots of people have been talking up Bogus (yay) lately, but while he showed his quality to quaify for this and do well in the WCG qualies he really has struggled in PL. Flying on the other hand not only did well to here but he looks good in PL.
Soulkey is hard to gauge, he's looked pretty good lately but keeps either having really tough opponents that stop him early (MMA and Taeja in combined events) or getting some ZvZ's.
Should be fun!

Soulkey was hyped as one of the strongest coming into the PL season since he was one of the first Kespa players to hit GM. He's still good but things have played out a bit since then.
Soulkey for instance has put in a respectable 6-4 in PL for SC2, but Sun blew away everyone with a massive 10-4. Basically he gets sent out a lot and he delivers most of the time, and he's backed it up by qualifying for individual leagues too.

And let's not forget Sun is almost always SKT T1's ace, even when he loses his first set of the night and even though he's lost 2 ace matches (iirc). They have faith in him for a reason.

I think there will be two groups next week.
It's just that there's only 3 groups total for Kespa players (12 players) in this stage since Fantasy and Jangbi get seeded through an extra round. GSL players was 16 players and two groups a day.

Bogus opened 14 cc when soulkey went 12 hatch, soulkey scouts this and puts down a third before pool, bogus also scouts this + no gas so he puts down his third cc before second gas. Both scout diligently and opt for fast thirds after confirming what the other is doing. Bogus uses a good number of hellions for map control and keeps the creep back for a while. Eventually the hellions die.
Macro macro macro as they tech and secure their economies. Important note is that Bogus has faster double upgrades.
Soulkey goes for pretty ineffectual late mutas but does transition quickly into infestors. He stalls Bogus big 2/2 timing with a nice burrowed baneling hit at the tower. Bogus still pushes out at near max though and kills the fourth after a good spread in a big engagement. Soulkey's fourth goes down and lots of units die while he's trying to survive to reach a good chunk of Hive tech.
Bogus has his fourth up and running and runs a constant stream of aggression at Soulkey, and with 16 medivacs out the lack of combined infestors and banelings + dwindling larva count can't kill it fast enough before he gets overrun.

Not sure what Soulkey's game plan was in that game. He got his mutas too late to harass. Basically just used them for drop defense but might as well get infestors for that. When Bogus saw the mutas, he pushed and Soulkey just didn't have enough banelings/infestors. He killed the army but not the reinforcements and it just snowballed from there.

I think you need to have an aggressive build and hopefully hit the protoss while he is teching to charge+storm. Or you can try to counter with ghosts but you basically need catch the tech choice right away and start ghosts ASAP. And keep scouting so they don't switch to colossus. But if you only have MMM while they have charge and storm, it is almost impossible to defend. You can spread vs storms but you will lose to charglots due to DPS lost from split and large surface area for lots. You can do it with an insane amount of bunkers (8-10) but you will just be contained on 2 base (no way to defend the 3rd) while they saturate their third and tech switch to colossi.
