Nope we are bringing 8 players to the finals this time around. Demuslim advances to the final 16 which means he has to win one more series then guarantees a spot to Toronto!

That timing was perfect by DeMuslim; the creep was at the watch tower and there were over 20 active tumours and Ret's hive tech was moments away from kicking in. Any longer and that fight would have been really difficult, also a little bit lucky for DeMuslim that Ret skipped (forgot?) Banling speed.

So wait, the grand finals will only be 8 players?
edit: i see Frodan's post above. huh, thats too bad, was hoping it was 16. Sucks that there is a potential EG team kill in ro16

Wait there are only 8 players at the offline finals? What on earth for? There was so much downtime last time, hate to think about what is going to go on with half the players...

Nah, Demuslim advances to the round of 16, the round of 16 has everyone who were top 8 + whichever of the 16 blokes survive the first round of playoffs. Whoever finishes top 8 (wins the round of 16) advances to the offline finals.
And Ret (loser of that tiebreak) plays Thorzain in the round preceding the round of 16 due to seeding. And by some rather amusing quirk, winner of that plays against Demuslim in the round of 16.

Even if Thorzain wins, it's a team-kill though isn't it? That's pretty rough.

Oh shit what the hell lol this format is so weird now.

Made sense to me after Frodan explained it.

Sorry if I missed this. What's the deal with Ryung/aLive? Has that match been played yet?

Yeah, but compared to the first two seasons...

Keep in mind the finals are only two days this time (July 14-15) and there is also the Blizzard WCS Canada qualifiers going on as well.

Touche, forgot WCS was going to be there. While I have your attention, do we have to buy a NASL HD pass in order to watch the WCS in HD?

And then why was the previous three way tie-breaker a weird format (maybe I'm just confused by the way the LR is written)? And in general, I guess I understand the numbers behind everything, but it seems a little tough to have this situation where individual games mean the difference between elimination and life, especially in a tournament in which there were still a ton of walkovers (despite your efforts). I mean, NightEnD got a walkover win from PuMa on the seventh week; that's huge. Ret got two W.O.s The groups were of different skill levels as well. Random variance like that exists all over these numbers, it seems a bit strange to be placing quite so much stock in them, especially the map score, tbh.

What happened with Ryung/aLive? Who plays Lowely, who plays Polt?

I'm pretty certain that you will need an HD pass to watch WCS and the NASL Finals in HD 720p and 1080p/+. I will double-check and get back to you.

NFL has regular season then playoffs then super bowl. nasl has regular season - wilcard round - playoffs - grand finals. not to mention NFL has two conferences while NASL is one big ball.
its definitely an odd format, especially compared to previous seasons, which mirrored the NFL much more (reg. season - playoffs - grand finals)
