The time has come for our sixteenth IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win. (Similar to IPL Team Arena, but without the teams!)

I don't think Polt and MC like each other very much so this is fun. Also Polt has MC on lock, outside of Cbus that is. Polt should win pretty easily only dropping a game or two.

I highly suggest taking a closer look at what's on his shoulder. It's the sponsor. TSL is definitely not sponsored by Sabasaba. Only Prime is. If you were to think rationally once in a while you'd know that there people that exclusively look at pictures. Also the TSL uniform looks wayyyyyy different from the Prime one. Way way different.

I'm actually well aware of what the different team uniforms look like. How do I know this? Because I follow the Korean SC2 scene. If someone knows enough about Korean SC2 to be able to identify uniforms, they should be smart enough to know that Polt is still on TSL. I agree with you that IGN should have used a more recent photo of Polt in but the reason you cite for people mistaking which team he is on is just not applicable.

The event isn't on the calendar. This seems to be a trend that I think is hurting IPL a bit: apparently several of their events appear only after they started.
Can't expect much out of MC unfortunately as it seems like his PvT still looks archaic. Hopefully I will be proved wrong, or at the very least i hope the games are good >_<

feel bad for all the people that missed this. But for a game on space ship polt did really well for a terran against a toss. But i like mcs ht control, at every base and if he needs them pulls them in and then they come from every angle and replace the army as archons afterwards. Impressive to see how polt controlled the mid game with drops and attacks everywhere, took over the lead and spreading out bases and then suddenly fall to the same strategy as he tries to force his way through the middle. Imo a good decision by mc to stay on 4 base and get the new base when the third was almost mined out and could have been sacrificed, would have been a huge weak spot if he had taken the small base earlier.
It's too bad that this event has such few viewers because so many people still have this mistaken view that MC is some cheesy 2-baser incapable of playing long macro games >_<
No one to blame but IPL themselves for not checking something so simple as the TL calendar entry. These things are pre recorded and the broadcast is probably automated and they just messed up on setting it up.

Wow, terrible unit positioning there for MC. Zealots CONSTANTLY behind the stalkers, and misjudged how many units he had to send to defend his main. Hopefully he can pick it up in game 3!

MC wasn't prepared enough, nor did he send enough units to defend. A handful of zealots and stalkers aren't enough to fend off a double medivac drop full of bio. He needed stalkers already there in his main to deny the drop completely or at least delay it.
Zealots got bocked, and then no Stalkers on the low ground, so the army there just pealed off and dropped as well. That's the danger of not applying pressure behind the 3 Nexus build.

Oooh, DRG next? I really want to see MC vs. DRG. I feel like they both have among top PvZ/ZvP in the world right now. Polt's TvZ is strong but I wouldn't put it on the same level as MC's PvZ or DRG's ZvP.

Certainly MC made mistakes that caused that drop to win the game. I'm just saying I hate to see it. It snowballs out of control so fast; basically, if you can't kill the drop off almost immediately, it will be extremely cost efficient no matter what.
Also, of course he had no charge or upgrades. He was doing the Parting 1 gate 3 base. It's supposed to hold through sheer numbers in the early game.
Such a sick first game it's unfortunate no other epic macro matches unfolded tonight, good series nonetheless. I think MC taking 2 games off Polt is pretty good, thought a 5-1 was in store going into it. gl next week!
