Didn't know there were so many morally superior people here that would, in MKP's position, forfeit a regame and supersede the responsibility that falls on the referee. I suppose you would be perfectly fine to throw your entire team, the people you live and practice with, under a bus just to keep the "integrity" of the game in check.

I'm saying it's very very likely an internet issue that they're covering up for PR, because chances of a random hardware failure in the middle of the match is far more slim than b.net finally dropping a game.

Isn't it horrible fucking form for them to do this, even if they aren't outright rigging the match?

if the only thing in their rules was a "regame" then they stuck to their rules. I just hope all the major tournaments think of a better way of dealing with situations like this. This is how the tournament scenes get better and better -- the problem first needs to surface itself. It sucks for parting but I hope StarTale's loss tonight is at least justified in the future by organizers thinking of better solutions.

There IS a system in place. The rule is that in the case of this kind of situation, the game is only a regame if it's impossible to make a call on the winner. Which is NOT the case.

I think nearly every person I've talked to had a very clear idea that Parting had a massive advantage and probably would have rolled it to victory.

My point is: there are better solutions than a "clean" regame to give players who were ahead an advantage, and I hope all the tournament organizers look into them.

I honestly can't think of any solutions besides Re-game, or awarding a win to a player

Make it into a BO3, with Parting ahead 1-0

Let's say Parting had the game 75% won, and Parting can beat MKP 50% of the time. (hypothetically)

Then Parting just needs to win once in the next two games which ends up being 75%.

Another option is to let the regame happen in a map that Parting picks.

Another option is to award StarTale a point, but MKP can keep playing in a regame (okay this is stupid, but it's an "option").

There's many ways to deal with this that transfers an advantage.
