I love you dimi bearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hope dimaga makes a good showin, and im sure he will ;D!
|
Gotta heavily favor JYP. Can't imagine him losing to a guy who just got 5-0ed by Hero.

Hope JYP does better then the last EG player.
Anyway, should indeed be a lot of fun!

i remember their series at HSC IV, it was really epic. When this showmatch only get the half of it, it will be nice to watch.
I´m Protoss, but...gogo Dimaga!

If you know Dimaga, you know you can't judge him by a single day. He nearly beat HerO at IEM Kiev.
One day he can win vs everyone in the world, the next he loses vs medicore players. (btw Dimaga is 3-3 vs JYP)
|
I voted dimaga only because I'm more familiar with him >.>
|
JYP is a PvZ master so he has to be the favorite Dimaga is no slouch though should be awesome.
|
And longer then an hour ;D

There's no way he could do worse. It's actually impossible

He could probe rush or kill his own buildings every game.
Can't wait for this. Dimaga vs JYP game 1 on Dual Sight at HSC4 was one of the coolest games I've seen.
|
I think DIMAGA will win since he's an overall better player. Who knows though he might have a bad day that day. JYP use to be very good, but his skill level has gone down for some reason. He seems almost code B ish maybe less. Decent player nonetheless.
|
I'd love to see Dimaga in a different matchup, the IPL thing was vs a Protoss (Hero) as well and I don't like Dimaga's ZvP at all, it's his worst matchup and you can see why, it's not particularly fun to watch either.
|
Dimaga so good.
Ohh, wait its vP. GG 4-0 just like last week with Idra :D
|
it will not be easy, but Dimaga will take it :D

I'm in agreement with you there. This could be a very back & forth matchup, but I am leaning towards Dimaga taking it.

Yes if i recall correctly MMA pioneered the siege push to kill own orbital into premature GG

Dimaga should be able to sweep it 4-0 based on pure skill alone. Maybe JYP can get some kind of lucky cheese on DIMAGA and possibly take a few games. I don't know why NASL would choose two players who are so uneven in skill.

If the homestory cup is anything to gauge this matchup its pretty close for sure.

Props to NASL for bringing in good players to cast time and time again, that's something they're doing pretty well!

JYP going to stomp, :[ The matchups are not good, JYP is a PvZ beast.

Fuck YES! :D NightEnD casting!

Nightend's casting will make it legendary. Sorry Gretorp, just stay quiet for the remainder of the matches and let Nightend's awesome voice do it's job.

Interesting push for JYP but hes floating over 1 kminerals with 77 supply O.O Not super well refined I think unfortunately looks like a very cool build but possibly new? I rarely see JYPs games and opening strats like this

I was worried that Dimaga was bad at ZvP after his games against Hero, but now I think Hero is just a PvZ genius.

According to Nightend, he got too greedy by taking a 4th and not getting AOE (collosus)

Really bad engagement from JYP. Getting fungalled over and over and not having the AoE to deal with zerglings or infested terrans.
Ive even started to think that getting a couple collossi against ling muta is really good just because 2 collossi roast zerglings really fast and its super helpful to kill the little things really fast coupled with a few storms.

Even though he lost a lot of drones after all the harass it was 70 at 57 in dimaga's favor...if JYP would have done even a 6-7 gate push you'd have less drones or you'd die...dimaga was in an awesome position.
|
Did the casters ever show workers lost? Dimaga was still way ahead on workers after 6-7 DT's 12 zealots and a couple of stalkers tried to kill em off.
From my point of view it looked like dima handled it very well, moving workers away instantly on several fronts.

After that much damage you know he is going to counter push soon. You've only really seen roaches so expecting a heavy roach push. Facing a roach counter push I'd rather have 4 immortals as opposed to like 1-2 collosi you might have out (still didn't have support bay+longer build time etc.)
The 4th was extremely greedy though...

So I hope everyone agrees that was pretty cool to watch. If he had put 3 zealots hold position on the ramp though he could have sent one zealot into the mineral line to kill some drones.

I think Nightend is a great analyst (as he's a pro-gamer and very good at spotting important decisions that both players have been making) but he's not really doing it for me as far as casting is going. Doesn't really have that attitude or passion.
It's definitely beneficial to have him there though. It's just tough when the pace of the commentating slows down to a crawl when he talks.

I guess it is a different type of persona that Nightend has. I do not think it would make sense for him to get super excited like an HD or Husky, but stay as the straight man as the analyst. Furthermore, I think the language barrier is playing a role as well in Nightend being so passive and laid back. Still, I am really enjoying Nightend's casting.

Yeah I definitely agree. He's being ridiculed so much in the livechat for how he talks. It's rather ignorant lol.
Also: JYP just had fucking insane blink micro. The forcefields were obviously good too ^^ Just went from being down 40 supply to breaking even, in a stalker + 4 sentry fight vs. mass roach and a few lings.

2-1 JYP! Infestors weren't enough, and Dimaga kept engaging poorly (e.g. in concaves x.x).

Just killed a queen. I don't even know if it killed any drones or lings. Very one-sided in terms of Dimaga, considering the third went up and the stargate tech was really late.
Gretorp: With this void ray and phoenix, Dimaga's in so much trouble! Nightend: Actually... I think he will hold this no problem because of the spore crawlers. ::Dimaga holds easily:: Gretorp: Hmm.
lol made me laugh out loud.

3-1 JYP with that hard push! Dimaga overdroned and didn't have enough units to defend. Too greedy

He was in trouble thou from the Stargate play. Killed the queen at the 3rd then floated around to the main and pick off more queens and forced more spores
|
Maybe dimaga could have countered into JYP's 3rd.. save his infestors for fungals but JYP probably retreats after killing the 3rd especially if theres units killing his 3rd.
Was so happy dimaga won game 1 but this one might be over soon..
|
Dimaga kinda sucks at ZvP :\ he used ot be amazing at it
|
Final score: JYP wins 4-1.
Dimaga overdrones x.x JYP super solid play, especially with blink! Congratulations to JYP

When I watch Dimaga play he usually loves the macro hatches. Going for that fast 3rd over and over again was disappointing

Cant really say that Dimaga sucks at ZvP, JYP is a far better player. However he was doing the same thing all games, which got countered pretty hard.
|
After watching Day9 study ret's ZvP on the daily, this was especially frustrating, even though the games I saw played out differently.

Wow.. that was actually a really disappointing series from Dimaga... I used to specifically watch his ZvP's to learn from him but these games have been so one sided. Drone to 75+ drones, no scout, no burrow...

Koreans need lag because it equalizes the matchup. xD

I can't believe JYP won, more shockingly, DIMAGA lost. Oh well. Good job JYP. I guess. Every player has a bad day I suppose. This was as shockingly, if not more, as when Gumiho upset Mvp. It's one of those times when a lesser skilled player figures something out (kinda like San way back when) and beats a player that out classes him. All good though, it's part of the game

JYP vs. Dimaga all time is a score of 7-4. Hes won 2 series over dimaga (bo5 and a bo7) while dimaga has won 1 (best of 3).
What is it about JYP that convinces you that hes a lesser skilled player? San abusing the amulet was only against terran - not a solid example or comparison at all.
Dimaga is pretty darn good but you make it sound as if hes miles ahead of JYP. I was personally expecting a close series and to learn from dimaga's ZvP and it looks like the majority of TL was also expecting a close match (example: the poll in the OP.)

Personally, I didn't expect this to be a close match at all. Let's face it, Dimaga's ZvP is easily his worst matchup (he just got 5-0'ed by Hero in the IPL Fight Club just a couple weeks ago), and JYP is a super solid Protoss with very strong PvZ. Of course I like Dimaga, but I think he seriously needs to improve his ZvP now, or he could hardly go far in any tournaments in the future, especially those with Korean Protosses.

I was personally expecting a shitclose series and to learn from dimaga's ZvP and it looks like the majority of TL was also expecting a close match (example: the poll in the OP.) Personally, I didn't expect this to be a close match at all.
Even if DIMIGA's worse matchup is vP, he is still miles ahead of JYP in terms of skill. It's like how Mvp's worse matchup is TvP and he still made HuK look like a fool in a series. And HuK is a PvT beast. In all honesty, not statistics, DIMAGA should have won 4-0. Off day I guess.

I'm quite curious just what leads you to think that "DIMAGA is still miles ahead of JYP in terms of skill".

You say all these things and don't give any information as to why Dimaga is the better player and should have won 4-0. What about his play that counters JYP's play? Seriously? There's no should have won, especially with a ridiculous 4-0 claim, there are just results and what happened. You could say he should have won that particular game or he should have won this particular game since he was so ahead, but you can't say that for the entire series + Show Spoiler +
All I see here is dumb fanboyism.
Dimaga is a great player, but the way you make him out is quite insulting to JYP who's good enough to have taken games off of DRG even.

You're being so biased it's ridiculous. JYP's PvZ winrate is 63.4% in KOREA while Dimaga's ZvP is 56% in foreigner tourny. JYP is MILES ahead at least in PvZ, and I'm quite sure he's better in the other two matchups as well. In terms of skill JYP is mid-high Code A player which means he's better than almost all foreigners.

are you serious or just a very good troll? i mean, come on, the last time they met on a lan, jyp also won 3:1. and his JYPs pvz is by far his most solid matchup.

Meh, I'd ignore Brootalbro.
+ Show Spoiler + I was first suspicious when he made his blatantly loaded "Yay, the more skilled players won" remark in the FXO vs. Mouz thread, conveniently ignoring the fact that Mouz's win is yet another example of foreigners pulling off an upset in cross-server play (while Korean vs Foreigners in LAN play remains an almost completely Korean-dominated affair, which, I'd like to add, heavily implies that cross-server lag is in the foreigner's favor). Not that Mouz is bad or anything - they're easily the strongest foreigner team alongside Empire IMO, but, again, how many times have we seen foreigners beat Koreans in cross-server tournaments, saw the fanfare, the claims of foreigners having "superior skill", only to see Koreans again dominate foreigners in non-cross server, lag-less environments?
Anyway, his ridiculous assessment that Dimaga is "miles ahead of JYP in terms of skill" confirms my suspicion: He's just a blind foreigner fanboy through and through.
