The time has come for our ninth IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win. (Similar to IPL Team Arena, but without the teams!)
When: Sunday, Feb 12 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Sunday, Feb 12 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
Last week, HerO shocked many of us with his impressive performance against NSHS.Jjakji, winning 5-3! This week, he'll have to face one of Europe's best, most consistent Zerg players in mTw.Dimaga. Will HerO be able to win and build a streak, or will the recent trend of champions getting dethroned immediately continue? You'll have to tune in to find out! Here are our players:
if this series is gonna be anywhere as entertaining as their IEM meeting this will be great, really hard to chose who to root for. I would love to see them both stay in FC. Sadly thats not possible.
I find Dimaga has too passive ZvP, whereas Hero's PvZ is his strongest MU.
I still voted for Dimaga, just because... Well, how could I not vote for him? He's just too likable and hilarious, these Korean players just cannot compete with that.
I like Dimaga and he has great zvt and zvz, but his zvp has looked sketchy for a while and Hero is a beast at pvz. Would love to see a 5-4 with an impressive zvp from dimaga though.
Please tell me: are my expectations completely unreasonable or should there be just "a dude" in the office just in case something like this happens? I know it´s the weekend but still. They have paid staff afterall. Oh well, I hope they´ll fix it soon.
I really hope *flips coin, lands on tails* DIMAGA wins tonight!
I'm sure that's kind of a consensus feeling, since both guys are so well loved and play this matchup in an insanely entertaining style, so really, as long as it's close or super intense, I'll be happy with the outcome.

Down 0-2, decides to win 3-2. In this case, it'll be down 0-3 and he'll decide to win 4-3.
Winning 4-3 seems slightly unlikely at this point.
Especially since it's best of 9. :3
Quite.
Have seen HerO struggle quite a few times with Mutalisks on TDA, so Dimaga should have some kind of chance here. Though it must be tough playing versus HerO in a non-tournament setting.

Parting is a nerd who hasn't the had the fortune of being on a foreign team and flying to easier foreign tourneys. Instead he's beasting it in GSL and just qualified for MLG arena.
Nydus worms should really just have more hitpoints as well. It's just silly that they can just get surrounded by workers and killed before getting up. I think that would really improve their use - like the warp prism buff made them useful...

Someone who will start smashing some foreigner faces and Koreans as well.

Honestly Warp Prisms were equally useful before the shields buff, it's just a psychological factor so people started using them (and because Protoss was doing so horribly at the time they had to try it).
With the speed upgrade they could still escape anything that kills them with a little bit of attention, and players who use WPs nowadays rarely lose any of the shields unless they make a mistake.

he played like always. i dont know what people have with dimaga... hes not that good
Kind of my sentiments as well. Not to shit on him as an overall player, I've hardly seen his ZvT or ZvZ, after all, but his ZvP is just really dull, uninspired and one-dimensional: get bases, turtle on mass spines with mass Mutas up to Queen/BL/Infestor, attack with maxed army.

His ZvP is indeed his worst matchup by a country mile. I'm going to guess that IPL invited him blindly on the idea that Jjakji would win against Hero as it doesn't really make sense to have a challenger play his weakest matchup against the throne-holder's strongest matchup.

Exactly. Dimaga has trouble against Protosses that are way weaker than Hero, no idea why IPL thought this one would be a good matchup...

Forget Stephano, talk to Coca.
90% of the protosses stephano beats are mid-tier foreigners...
You mean huk, sase, hero, tails? yeah pretty mid tier
Well you just helped his case because those players you mentioned probably comprise like 5% of his zvp, which was the poster's point. Majority of stephano's zvp are against mid tier foreigners.
Kinda feel bad for Dima, but HerO is just THE COOLEST. Period. and the way he finished it? gosh, that is why i watch HerO so much, he is just hilarious, and really good all at the same time. GL in Code A HerO, want to see you take it all.
