The Midwest Esports League is looking for Grandmasters and High level Masters players to participate in showmatches for the next few months. One condition: you must currently live in the Midwest! We are trying to build content for our website and YouTube channels that specifically focuses in on the talent growing in America's Heartland. We may later change this and accept just one player from the Midwest, and an opponent from a different region. Stay tuned!
Prize pool:
$35/winner
$15/loser.
This is a BO7, we will be streaming live with our own Midwest E-sports League casters! Also, the games will be recorded and posted to our YouTube channel!

Rules:
Best of 7. First map selection: each player, in turn, has 3 vetoes then the remaining map is played. Loser then selects from the remaining maps that have not been played. Disconnects are not counted unless disconnecter is at a sizable disadvantage. If disputes occur, it is subject to staff/organizers to review and their decision is final.

The "Midwest" we have deemed as the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Looking forward to working with the MEL and helping to produce some great matches!
Also if you are not in the Midwest area there will be opportunities in the future for you to participate in MEL events - stay tuned!

Alright we are getting set to start the cast... It will be a little shaky being our first showmatch but its the first of many so the production value will only go up

The first MEL went great! We are still looking for great Midwest talent. Our next showmatch will be Feb 23rd.

I am happy to accounce that we have our players for February 23rd and March 8th showmatches! We have some exciting Midwest Talent from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Illinois!! We will be posting additional updates next week, and keep an eye out for our showmatch on the TL calendar February 23rd!!

The event didn't get on the TL calendar this week but if we can keep finding good players and provide quality casting for you guys hopefully we can gain some notoriety, up the prize pool, and get back on the calendar. I'm not sure why we got on the calendar two weeks ago but got denied this week - still that's besides the point. We just want to help get more players from the Midwest out there, give a chance to those players to earn some money, further develop the Midwest scene, and have a good time doing it. Hope to have many of you watching tonight!
Also remember if you wish to participate in a MEL showmatch you need to be a high masters or grand masters player on the NA server, live in the Midwest (the states mentioned in the op), and be free Thursday evenings at 7:30pm central standard time. we will certainly let you know... Mr. Spande handles most the e-mails but he lets us know who has requested to play and we see which match ups look best/who are the best players - and then we notify the players at least a week before... Usually we try to schedule out to 2-4 weeks.

PS anyone in the midwest who is grandmaster like my man goswser or very high masters shoot us an e-mail at midwestesportsleague@gmail.com We would love to cast you - you will have a chance to earn your share of 50$ for one best of 7 series. Winner takes 35$ loser 15$ and the winner is automatically entered for our end of the season online tournament.
