If I was the jealous type I would really have to dislike Grubby. Full-time gamer, insane micro, a good caster, hot wife, but damnit he's too nice a guy to dislike!
I can understand why Steelseries dropped him at the time as he was relatively invisible, which is also why it's become a surprise that he's breaking out to many. Nice to see it finally coming good, I mean the guy seems to go out on mapscore every tournament he plays, but he's pushing up a level at least compared to many of his foreigner counterparts.
I think what makes Grubby such a strong player, besides his obvious micro is a combination of his general game knowledge (although most pros know their shit), but especially his off-the-cuff decision making. Game 1 vs Ret looked terrifying but the guy managed the win in the only manner he could realistically have managed at that time. You saw it time and time again with his base-race prowess in WC3 being legendary. Hopefully he keeps it up, though you may not be a particularly avid follower of the guy, I don't think anyone on TL can legitimately wish bad results on the guy.

So steelseries dropped grubby, like in not sponsoring/partnering anymore? I didnt see any post about that or hear about that before? Or am i just misunderstanding you?

To me, it's not necessarily less fun to watch, I think it's quite interesting and often very tense. It's just very different to any other matchup.

I didn't hear it but people were criticising the decision of Steelseries to 'drop his sponsorship', so I had assumed this had been confirmed. If the case not my apologies to the two parties

If the case not my apologies to the two parties Nah found it.. you are right: SteelSeries has sponsored me as a solo player for nine months. They are one of the most professional companies I have had the pleasure of working with and I’ve appreciated their support. For the year of 2012, they’ve decided not to continue their sponsorship and focus on other pursuits. Of course I wish that they would’ve been able to renew their sponsorship of me for 2012 as well, so that I would be able to repay their investment even better. My results may have been the reason for them stopping, but I feel like I’m getting there soon.
To bad to hear that.. Really feel like Grubby is getting there indeed, and hope he makes steelseries regret/turn back as a sponor

How about a link to liquidpedia in main post?

Really enjoyed the event today. I need to know the name of the band/album they featured today. It reminded me the Guilty Gear soundtracks (that, by the way, are full of win).

FYI that we have changed the start time for tomorrow to 2pm GMT in order to allow the players a bit more recovery after today's long day of competition.

I absolutely love ZvZ. Mind you, I only watch SCII but don't play it, but damn... ZvZ is so explosive! Perhaps as a player it's a frustrating matchup but i love to watch it.

It's just very different to any other matchup. I don't mind it either. Ever since ZvZ evolved from the "both Drone until minute x, then we both spam roaches" it has become a very good matchup to watch. In fact I like the mirror more then PvP or TvT (also in that order).

ZvZ is amazing, and if it's Ret vs Stephano even more so.

When do the tournament start today? At first post it says 10am gmt, and on their website it says 12.00GMT
But still not on
Edit. Nvm, found at the bottom of the page lol. 2 and 4 pm. (Why type 3 diffrent times at 3 diffrent places lol)
|
They pushed it a bit back so the players and casters have more time to rest since it got quite late yesterday. 2pm GMT or in 1 hour 15 min like TL calender says.

The tournament never started at 10am GMT on the second day, we clearly stated 12pm, then moved it back to 2pm to make the players more comfortable.
