Without those mistakes Ret still wouldn't have won directly, but the games would have been even and lasted longer.

Ret lost that game. He didn't need to chase Grubby with the small number of Roaches after the first attack, he should have just kept massing and waiting for his Infestors. And Grubby had no sentries, so why not make some lings???

I really have to say that I enjoyed Destinys casting, I hope that we'll see more of that throughout the tournament, he was spot-on and to the point with his remarks.

Grubby played well, sad that we didn't see his lategame, I was interested in that but as the tournament goes on for a while - we'll hopefully see ^.^

Ret made the mistake destiny was speaking of. He never accumulated enough roaches to really kill stalkers after the initial engagement. Grubby played quite good too though.

both are true, but in those position at that time ret was so ahead he could take it with ling roach easily, it was his game to lose but only when grubby had perfect micro because he was so far behind

Micro was really inconsequential, Ret forced a fight between equal numbers of Blink Stalkers and Roaches and you don't need stellar micro to keep winning those engagements at all. -_-

Ret missed his Infestor timing, so I don't think those initial 4 popped with FG. If he had FG at that time, Grubby probably loses the majority of his army because Ret's army was about the biggest it had been all game. I don't agree with him chasing as far as he did either.

Micro? Grubby won in typical BW economic fashion - killed expo, pulled back (very disciplined move), and utilized an additional expo that he took meanwhile.

I think we are way past the point we should reason about Grubby as an "ex-War3 player". Grubby is one of the best professionals in esports, and is now fully into Starcraft. So, he learned to think and win like a true starcrafter.

I'm neither of those and I think it's pretty obvious that Ret messed up. Losing too many roaches for free when he should've pulled back and waited for reinforcements and losing those infestors for free. Grubby just did a standard P blind 2base thing and he has nice blink, sure, but that wasn't really the deciding factor.

Ret basically had what it takes to defend that attack from Grubby, the problem is that he kept on losing gropus of units before he hit that critical mass where no blink can help you
