Technically it's a big supper, but a)this word might further confuse our US hosts ;-) b) in (at least some) countries there's a day long fasting, so the Eve meal is the main one during the day. All due respect, this is a particularily stupid post. 1. Tournament does not take place on Christmas day at all, but rather today, and Christmas Eve. 2. Christmas Eve is not celebrated in UK (and France iirc) at all, so your experience wouldn't really be very relevant in this situation (unless you were part of the royal family as they do celebrate the Eve. No Special Tactics for you, Bessy!). Yes, there are countries that will not be afected by this, as they don't celebrate on 24th (either not celebrating Eve, or doing so in Orthodox Church timeline). But for many (thankfully not the three invited Poles, but many potential viewers from many European countries ie Denmark, Latvia, Poland, Austria, Norway or Greece) this is an issue that will stop them from watching this event, as the most important celebrations take place on Eve, and start around the time the finals of TwitchTv invitational. Please, TwitchTv - if not admit, then at least accept that this date is a Fup, so you can avoid it in (hopefully many to come, great lineup btw) future tournaments. Your finals are on the worst day and hour for huge number of EU viewers. And while we're at it, will there be vods released after the tournament, so we could watch it, ie on christmas morning (when we will have f-all to do)? edit: On December 23 2011 11:11 White-Ra wrote: Time for bet Gentlemen I'm rooting for a White-Ra v Nerchio final, but I hope Tarson will take at least one game off of you gl hf!

yeah, people which got fuck all of a family... The 24th is like the worst possible date for a tournament in the entire year for Switzerland/Germany/Scandinavia (and Poland as it seems, i have no clue)... But the 24th basically "is" christmas for many countries... Seriously, it could not be worse, it is not humanly possible. 3 a clock in the morning during a weekday? Would be better. Oh, and we also don't have santa claus and socks filled with presents, just in case you were wondering .

The thing here is, that the family christmas meal you've mentioned, takes place in many countries on the christmas eve instead of christmas day. And it's the most important family event in many countries, and as such - celebrated by christians, non practicing christians, practicing atheists ( ;-) ) and atheists alike. I have to say, if nothing else - I'm learning about how different countries celebrate during holidays BTW, for TwitchTv - it's a longshot, but you could try getting your hands on Electrolux organizer/personal ledger for management (other big companies probably have similar ones) for future reference - they have great country/holiday/religion tables, with short description of how it's celebrated (important or not, workday or not (Eve is a working day at least for several hours in Poland, and iirc in Germany it's not uncommon to be going out after the dinner).
