Playhem's fourth week of showmatches brings another foreigner vs korean match featuring Evil Geniuses' Axslav and former GSL Code A and S player viOlet!
Date: Sunday November 13th
Time: 3:00 PM PST // 6:00 PM EST // 12:00 midnight CET // 8:00 AM KST
I love axslav's play and hope he wins but from recent personal experience playing violet in playhem and ladder, I can say that violet is an absolute fucking beast and I don't see him loosing to any protoss outside of someone of MC's caliber in a bo7. Hopefully some good matches will come of this :D

if u really did watch both, then there is no way viOlet is easily going to win over Axslav. Honestly think Axslav has a higher chance to win.

Then you must be watching the wrong streams, because Violet is a monster at ZvP.
suprised the votes are favoring violet .. EG.Axslave lives with 3 of the best zergs in the foriegn scene if not the world... Idra Machine and Strifecrow i have a feeling this wont even be close..

Machine and Strifecro as some of the best Zergs in the scene and/or world? @_@ They are good players but that is a ludicrous statement in my opinion. Why would it surprise you that people are favoring an ex-Code A player who practices in a ridiculously tough environment and has proven himself to be a beast?

I agree with you on Idra, however Violet is much better than Machine and Strifecro in my opinion. You have to remember that while Axslav may live with them, Violet played on MVP and lived in their house (I believe), he's also made it to Code S, something I can't see Machine nor Strifecro doing anytime soon. I give this one to Violet.

since he lose on stream zvp vs my teammate i would not say it that way ... he failes sometimes rly hard and axlsav is extreme solid pvz

And this means what exactly? Head to head Violet has already beaten him, decisively too. Plus consider that he was a former Code S player, while Axslav barely qualifies at a mid-lowe tier professional (and that's in the NA scene).
Cherry-picking means nothing. I can find plenty of examples of Axslav losing to players less skilled than him as well.

You can't possibly think that machine and strifecrow are better than the likes of Sen, Dimaga, Stephano?

look to be honest MLG was proving ground for stephano and he didnt quite live up to the hype, whereas idra and machine have proven there worthy of pool play. ive said for months during the hype to wait and see how he does at MLG vs american and korean pros.. no offense to stephano but theres a difference between ladder and the big leagues.. ive yet to see sen or dimago join the competition at MLG so it remains to be seen about them..

You speak like MLG is the only tournament in the world. Didn't Stephano just win IPL and ESWC?

1 of those things is not like the other here .... . Idra is great and def one of the best Zergs. The others though , not really . Even among foreigners they're not even close to beeing considered top-players.

Brother, Stephano won IPL and ESWC back to back. If you think Machine is better than Stephano, allow me to publicly question your critical faculties.
viOlet closing it down here. Loving this hydra play.
Violet goes hydras even if he doesn't scout stargate - why does Axslav insist on opening stargate every game? Wouldn't other strats seem a little more effective?
during axslav's playhem final match vs violet few days ago, on his stream you can still see the recording of it on his playback list. He called violet bad the whole time while violet was still in the process of beating him. Saying a long the line of he's not even good, he made so much mistakes, and if not for him playing BAD i wouldn't have lost.

That was harsh. He has been struggling quite a bit with PvZ from what I've seen lately. His PvP and PvT have been much, much better. It's too bad it was 4-0, but viOlet is a really good Zerg and Axslav made some costly mistakes. But either way, he lost to the clearly better player.

Axslav is normally really mannered, not quite sure what's up with that. I only tuned in for the end of that and he was clearly very frustrated.
Nevertheless, there were some good games, but PvZ against a good Zerg you can't afford to make mistakes.
I think it was his frustration with losing the series, he was so close to winning the top prize but lost to ViOlet whom he felt he could beat. In any case, I'm quite surprised he even said things like that, coming from War3, Axslav was one of the most mannered foreigners out there.. it could be the EG-effect rubbing off on him or something, I mean he does live in a house with IdrA..

A lot of Toss players have been going Stargate as a deterrent against Muta play. Reactive Stargate doesn't work vs them but preempting them and having map control / harass can really help. Stargate vs Hydras is survivable but not ideal.
In the end maybe Axslav was more confident in fending of Hydra play than leaving himself bare to Muta harass? That's only speculation though, maybe Axslav just tilted hard and lost.
i watched the axslav vs. violet playem finals a few days back.. axslav made the counter to violet every game and was ahead but he fumbled the execution.. game 1 and 2 were both decided by him being ahead and finding the worst thing to do. very unlike him and it seems he was just being a bit sloppy
on the BM: he commented on how violet was doing a stupid build that shouldn't work or something to that general effect
