So is own3d for australia as justintv is for europe or what? I've had much better experiences with own3d than most other.

Will all groups be played in Day 1? The schedule doesn't specify this.

Yeah. Own3d usually sucks compared to twitch/justin for us. But recently justin/twitch hasn't been doing too well and own3d seems to be bearable sometimes. So *shrug*

Is there an overall schedule anywhere? By overall I don't just mean the main stage schedule - I mean the entire tournament schedule.

The Blizzcon qualifiers were at the bottom of Idra's slump and Huk had been traveling hard. Which is why its Select & Sheth that are going. It was actually 3 months ago, at that, too.

The SC2 section runs Friday to Sunday, per the website. Exact stream schedule I haven't found yet, but still looking (might not be posted yet, either).

I find it interesting that they've split the groups up, in such a way, that the top-tier and top-named players are pretty much 2 per group. There'll be upsets, but it is interesting.

Though I think 8 groups of 6 is a little rough. 5 players per group is probably the max that should happen, when there's only 2 spots. 1/3rd going away in a pool setting makes a whole lot of games fairly meaningless. (After you've lost twice, you're out of the running for the group, pretty much. Yet you still have 3 matches left)

Go to www.lowerping.com and download it. You can use it for 30 mins at a time without paying but it's worth the money. Open it up and use the web browsing proxy feature with firefox. I get flawless playback from jtv/owned using this

Looking at the way the groups break down, it leaves a big set of storylines.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Electronic_Sports_World_Cup_2011/Main_Tournament

With MC & MKP in Groups 1 & 2, the big deal is both *have* to finish with the same standing the groups. While we can generally expect them to take first in each group, but if one comes out second, they end up facing off against each other.

Further, the earliest that Idra, Thorzain, Stephano or Nerchio can run into a Korean is the Semi-Finals. Makes for an interesting time.

I want to see Elfi against MC or MKP.

Wowowowow! I didn't actually take some time to look at the player list, but it is incredibly varied and broad in terms of players. It's so wide that one of Norways, uh, three serious SC2 players are in it! Really impressive, even some of the European players I haven't heard of. I'm a big European scene hipster, I know every single player there but somehow these guys escaped me. This will be a really great tournament, and deserves more coverage :D

good question indeed.

back in my wc3 days ESWC was the 2nd biggest thing after WCG so i guess many people still know ESWC. hope we will see some surprises, ESWC is known for having people from places where you wouldn't think there are players at all, which i like and dislike at the same time, as those players usually don't do anything... but well, it's still nice. kind of like a world cup
