"theres been some rumours that MMA won't play his best, but let the crowd be the judge" He's essentially telling MMA that he'd better not let him win just out of respect, and that he's responsible to the fans to play his best. Fuck thats so awesome.

So when the Columbus rules were wrote up they said "Non-Korean" which was meaning basically the Koreans not invited. However, since Koreans are showing up at MLG on their own, they are eligible to win the Code A as long as they aren't part of the exchange program. There is 1 Code S spot up for grabs which the winner of this next match will get. There was NO CODE S spot at Columbus, just 3 spots for Code A. The most updated rules(not what was written during Columbus) state this. So Code A for any players that aren't part of the exchange program. Code S for any players that finish in the top 3 that aren't already Code S regardless of anything. If 1st-3rd happen to be code S then no Code S is given out. Yes, the exchange program is working out to the maximum benefit of the Korean players vis-a-vis the foreigners, since now they can also claim basically all the Code A spots if they wanted to, leaving the foreigners with nothing. But it'd be a stretch to say that MLG didn't expect it. But the fact that you can get into Code A via the program encourages more Koreans to come over to the U.S. and play at MLG in the open bracket, which is good for the overall strength of the tournament. But that wasn't the "deal" some foreigners thought they were offered. They thought they had an easy way into the GSL. That isn't the case. Not that it matters, since it's MLG's deal, not the foreigner players' deal. Whether it benefits foreigner players didn't necessarily factor into MLG's decision.

MLG is only 3 days and GSL seems to want their players playing in multiple tournaments, so I really don't think it would be a concern to play in both at the same time.
