Invitations: Roughly 60 or so invitations were sent out to a wide variety of top players, but unfortunately not all of them could accept. If you'd like to be considered for an invitation, send an email to contact@followgrubby.com within the next 2 days with the following information:

For those of you who didn't catch it on the stream, Grubby announced a competition to win one of the, as of yet unavailable, Team Grubby jerseys. Just go to FollowGrubby.com, register an account and leave a comment in this news post telling us what you enjoyed most about the GSS.

Wondering aswell. I cant figure a sheme in that invite list other then there are significantly lower toss represent then the other races , especialy terran !
Gah sawks this is prolly gonne go together with the TotalBiscuit tourney starting at 18h, really love his commentary! But to much of a fanboy to not watch grubby so ill be there, go grubby, great you doing this for the community!
All players have received their invitations into the brackets, some are seeded already, rest will follow soon.
Please be aware the seedings might change as we approach the tournament. We start streaming early coming saturday. (15:00 Local Amsterdam Time) Have fun all.
Of course we hope TL will pick up on the streams as well.
On July 20 2011 03:38 Mereel wrote: what does 'cloaked' mean at the maps
it means that you can't check the build orders after the game i think
what's that for? many players check replay anyway
No the cloaked maps are to prevent other people from seeing results, so no one can spoil. When you check someones match history it will give you an error for that particular map.
I can say it is going well thus far. All players have been invited and the brackets are growing. As the site is new to the players they have to find their way to their user-profiles to accept their invite, surely we are in close contact with them.
Grubby will be playing surely. He is still reviewing some fantastic potential player additions to the tournament already. We are still making some tweaks to the streams and different sites like http://egs.tv to make sure we can give the viewers as many working streams as possible.
Localization is an asset so if you are a caster from a specific country like France, Russia, Poland, Spain with a base that likes to listen to a local caster, please send us an email. We will have 2 Streams up and running 1 game and 1 commentary stream.
The EGS team is at full steam to bring the best possible experience and want to shout out to all of you with a big thanks for the warm welcome.

Pstscrpt: SOmebody had to say it.
I love the lineup so far, but I can name a few more that should be added (couldn't make it?): IdrA, SeleCT, TT1, Destiny. (Don't laugh. Have you seen the recent GSPA games?)
In the Studio we have the following casters tomorrow: Matt "A_Spec" Hoving Martijn "Mumbles" Bloemheuvel
When not playing: Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen Dario "LiquidTLO" Wuensch
A full list of spectating casters can be found tomorrow at the rules section of the tournament. Some well known and local casters will cast in their respective languages.
We will try to update you as good as possible from now till the end of the tournament.
Invitation update Players that have not registered on the site yet: please check your email for a re-invite After registration: Open your user-profile (top of the page) and find your invite at the left side, just below the icons.
In any case you need help add Mr. Admin to your FL or contact him by PM (he can also be found bottom left off the page in the chat system)

My humble opinion: Amazing lineup.
Dude, Destiny is going to kick alot of asses pretty soon I think.
And also, TLO and Grubby in EGS Studios casting some games, should be hilarious with TLO there xD
for those wondering how he invites: he just randomly choose people he recognizes in tournament games and ladder and invite them, i know cos about 3-4 of my team players are in there and got invited this way.

They all submitted applications and were chosen based on their prior accomplishments and ladder statistics. What's random about that exactly?
Hopefully we can schedule "even" better next time. 2nd one will be within short period off time already again. As mentioned earlier we want to bring as many pro-invitational's to you as possible.
Well as mentioned earlier TLO and Grubby will be playing in the GSS pro-invitational so it will be hard having them both casting, commentating etc.
On top off that, I am sure 75% off the "unknown" casters are GOOD and should have a fair chance showing that to the audience, same goes for gamers that want to reach professional level.
Mumbles on that part is not at all "some no-name" and A_Spec in that perspective not either. They both had a fair share off casting and commentating and they are quite enjoyable to watch.
I am sure YOU know them as being Dutch. Which leads me to the 2nd part. As you being Dutch, would you like to be present in the Studio's tomorrow? Maybe you can even help Mumbles and A_spec out a bit. PM me for the address.

Hey guys, the site is being DDoS'd at the moment so there's a slight delay. Matches will be starting quite soon and the brackets will probably be posted here on TL since the site is up and down.

A few dedicated individuals have been helping keep the brackets on liquipedia live-updated. With all the issues of the official site I think this is a great way for everyone to help Grubby& if you can fill out some of the missing results it would be great.
Unfortunately this tournament is only amature level in terms of organisation. No bracket for several hours, now there is a bracket, but its not up to date. I am just not getting why they just didnt put an up to date bracket into liquipedia.
The whole tournament seems like no one has any clue about whats going on - very sad given the nice lineup

OrigineTV just got informed that they won't be allowed to stream the semis and finals. They'll be given replays after they'll happen, and will cast them from the replays.
Somewhat sucks
But then, I guess Grubby wants to stream the semis & finals on a stream of his choice and only on that one, which makes sense.

GoOdy won game one with some crazy turtling, and won through nerves/pressure.
g2 he did a weird 1 marauder 1 reaper expand build that won him a big early game advantage, but couldn't get past three bases due to well played contains and eventually dried out and lost.
g3 he went cc first and it all went downhill from there, 50 food disadvantage early on.

Thanks for helping me out! Game 1 was on metal btw.
All replays will be uploaded to EGS.tv and KAOStv this week probably together with a new EGS report.
EGS wants to offer some small sort of excuse for the brackets going down earlier today because of the nasty DDOS attack.
Our technicians have been working all day and have made sure this will not happen any more in the future. We have multiple systems up which will be tweaked and tuned towards the next Pro-Invitational. Unlucky some people still feel it's needed to try and sabotage the community.
The next Pro-Invitational will be somewhere next month, ofc we will find a date which not clashes with other tournaments again with 64 players and enough prize-money to spent your Saturday on.
First, random windows beeps, making me look all around my machine to understand where they came from. Until the facepalming realization it was on stream.
And now, Unreal Tournament '99 music, making me want to close everything, boot up that old gem, and play all evening.
How to beat metal* according to Kas: 1) Get bio, lots of bio, on two bases 2) Get a third 3) Make a sick wall in your base with supply depots to deny drops 4) Make battlecruisers around 110 supply 5) Run in opponent's base, destroy starport 6) Push, win
Entertaining.

Well people might not know about this tournament and how good players are actually playing. TL advertises that TS TL Open and it's the #20 already so people will just check what tournaments are going on and tune in to that.
Cool tournament, kind of boring finals though. First game Sase was just greedy as hell while Kas made 10 Vikings against 1 Colossus, and in the second game Kas fell behind decisively in the early game.

I'm A_Spec, I run this hizzle and did some of the earlier casts before them two were knocked out of the tournament.
It's been mostly a test run to test the waters, there's a lot of stuff to improve on for next time though. Looking forward to your collective feedback on this project.
I'll post them in here and prolly will dump them into a new thread. Quick announcement on the stream now though, then time to go home, tis getting late and I still need to drive 175km

We didnt want to overhype it seeying as it was our first production. If something goes wrong with overhyped advertisement people get really sad xD. But we will definitely advertise the next tourney more.
This definitely needs to be hyped more. I consider myself to be fairly knowledgeable of major tournaments but this completely passed my radar. So for the next one, massive hype! At least make sure everyone knows about it.
We will do the next GSS pro-invitational between 6-8 weeks and make sure to plan around other events and streamers etc, to assure no clashes.
We have a lot of replays available, just send me a message if you would like to replay cast some of them. (just add me on Twitter @egs_inc or PM me for the email address) I am working on a day this week to do a FULL HD re-cap afternoon on stream, we have to see when our crew will be available to do so. Surely we want to this with Grubby as well, otherwise it will be A_Spec alone walking you through the full length of the tournament.
Another tournament we run is the: Grubby Jersey Give-away. This is an Amateur tournament where Grubby invites upcoming talents to play against eachother 1 day, the winner receives a signed Grubby Jersey and EGS event points. EGS does this to assure players get some extra attention and are put in the spotlight, we believe every hard working gamer deserves that.
Eli's dream came true, he won a nice and promoted tournament, he got to meet his idol, which handed him a signed Jersey in person and they played a match together. Exactly the full scale of what we wanted to achieve doing so.
from left to right Grubby (Pro), Mike (EGS/ GSS), TLO (Pro)
We will do these tournaments per region. (NA, EU, ASIA)
Last but not least, we are back up with http://egsonline.eu again after the quite heavy ddos. The site allows for anybody to organize tournaments and ladders, if you want a game added let me know. Certainly SC2 is already in the list. You can organize pay-2-play tournaments and ladders, if you think you should have a free to enter tournament please send me an email.
Tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 local Dutch Time we will be live-streaming with Grubby in our talk show. We will discuss some matches, the upcoming GSS and of course everybody is allowed to drop in questions.
We will be showing and re-evaluate some off the matches with Grubby and A_spec which have been played in the GSS last saturday.
