good showing by the foreigners, only 2 koreans in top 8. How many were in the entire tournament?
In order to move forward, we must rid ourselves of that which holds us back. Check out my stream and give me tips! twitch.tv/intotheskyy

So the Koreans saw that Europeans can still hold their rank. And we are not talking about only first rank players. MoMaN was 9th ex-aequo .... And he is far from being a top 5 zerg in Eu right now.

It was held from about 2am to 8am Korean time, with Koreans playing at 500ms on the NA server. It wouldn't read much into it.

Not to mention the Koreans who competed are basically all no-names in Korea with no televised showings (and in some cases without teams). Hack is the most famous one who played today from what I saw.

It is good to see a large amount of foreigners in the top 8. Congrats guys!

Will the rest of the replays (specifically the finals) be posted at some point? Or no

And Hack is only well-known because he crapped all over FXO, the punching bag team of the GSTL.

Not really fair to say stuff like that, 'no-name' and no televised matches doesn't mean they're terrible. Everyone knows the Code A qualifiers are ridiculously stacked and involve some degree of randomness, some of the sickest players are likely to be Code B.

Just downloaded the Ro32-Ro8 replaypack and watched Lalush vs Scatmango2 (ingame Roflstilsken) on Tal'darim, but I cannot find the match in the bracket. I mean beside from Lalush being untolerable badmannered, does anyone know why this game is in the replaypack but not listed in the bracket? Scatmango2 won btw according to the replay.

edit: just checked again .. the bracket link in the opening thread links to tlopen#18 ?

I am very unhappy since i came only to demolish some koreans and got Goody. Loosing to Goody is worst feeling ever because you feel like you are better in every aspect of game and still loose. Sadly I have got huge problems against mechanical terran and in fact it's my only problem in 3 matchups for now.

Hahaha why do so many players have trouble playing against GoodY? Can you explain the experience of playing him?

Yup that sounds like Goody. I think his tanks are just stronger than other peoples tbh. Its the only explanation. I feel his charismatic presence makes them 20% stronger.

lol Goody's presence increases tank rate of fire and damage by 20%. In return he must make at least 10 tanks a game.

So what, Koreans are supposed to be SO FREAKING FAR AHEAD of foreigners right ? Furthermore, I am laughing at the 500ms ... That's a complete misconception of global internet connection. Any good servers in the west coast provides Japan under 200ms. So ... it doesn't takes 300 ms to get an answer in Korea.

You can always find excuses if you want to but there was at least one Code S player (CoCa) and he didn't won. International gaming is so made that you have to compete at night with high ping sometimes. If you don't prepare accordingly by training on NA servers then you are a joke of a progamer who is either too full of himself or arrogant. Either way, you get punished by people who actually care ...

Look at it this way. If a player can make such cringeworthy mistakes and get that far, he probably has a great deal of potential. (or the game is bad blah blah Idra stuff)

And although that has been said countless times (and by Jinro too to boot) Europe also has got latency, and not uncomparable to Korean one
