naniwa played great in all 3 games, so proud of him

First game, build order win for Naniwa.
Second game, build order win for Naniwa but he managed to lose.
Third game he played better.

Third game is BO win too lol, they didn't have proper info and just made stuff. The stuff that one guy made was better in a direct battle than the other guys stuff. :D No real skill was on display in that game.

...i dont even know what to say to this

It's starcraft man

everyone makes stuff and then someone wins

NO SKILL INVOLVED

I need to quote this for the extensive lols i had irl.

Crush your opponent being ahead in upgrades 2-0? Just random stuff you made man, no skill involved.

Yeah, what do decision making means? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nani casting.. Awesame. Thats actually a awesame trio. Just seemes abit stiff still. But with some time hopefully they all will loosen up abit!

I don't like giving Protoss compliments, but the guy makes expert decisions time and time again. Well done dude.
MC is a far better player than Naniwa, it's not close. He's much more consistant, has won far more tournaments and is better in every matchup.

Please. Foreigners are catching up to the Koreans. Koreans have an infrastructure/starcraft build in advantagr ATM, but its slowly changing.

It's not changing. The skill difference is much bigger now than it was in Beta or early release.

sick series.

boring as hell game 3 though, sit back on two base and let the tech choices made blidnly without any scouting decide the winner irrespective of macro, micro, or positioning. a game that doesn't show anything about the winner unfortunately, i felt a lot better about Nani in game 1 where he outplayed MC as opposed to this crap.

Naniwa didn't outplay MC in game one. It was a build order win. That's why PvP is so stupid, most games aren't decided by skill but by which build order you blindly picked, the reason MC is so good in PvP (as opposed to basically anyone else) is that he is able to win often when his build order is worse than the others guys (see game 2 in this series).

I agree with you, first game came down to decision making but in the last game Naniwa just out-microed MC tbh.

The micro didn't matter much. It was the 2-0 upgrade advantage that won it for Naniwa, no amount of micro could have overcome that. Seems MC's big weakness is not having good upgrade timings as it was a large part of his loss to Thorzain as well.

This is so true. If anything is wrong with MC's games it's his use of upgrades. He often doesn't get them at all or when he does he prioritizes the wrong one. Seen him a fair number of times go 3-0 in PvT for example where everyone knows that armor is as good or perhaps even better then attack there (gateway vs MMM).
Game 3 vs naniwa he opened brilliantly with the fake 4 gate, however it was stupid he went 2 sentries himself afterwards as that really throws away the advantage of a fake 4 gate. After that he was still in fine shape, slightly later expo but more probes. Then he goes blink afterwards in a robo war.. that's just terrible.

Game 2 was awesome from MC though, DT tech is quite good these days. Against a few strats it wins on the spot like stargate or a slow blink build. Against robo itself it's not even that bad, often the obs is out of the base which can be spotted quite easily and then the tech pays itself back in probe kills. If they do defend it blink + zealots + 1 or 2 archon from the DT actually works quite well against colo. The proper way for the robo player is to expand asap imo and just build up colossi. Colo in small numbers are just not good for pushing..

Granted that MC has won bigger tournaments due to playing on a bigger stage (doesn't get much bigger than GSL) but Naniwa has been pretty damn consistant these last couple of months.

People get so excited a about a 2-1. Probably Naniwa was preparing his builds all this time, watching MC's games to analyze and counter ... in the meantime... MC sleeps, MC goes around eating having fun/trolling cams, and not watching games...

Also for those saying that Slayers_Alicia is better, the night before the match MC was in a party until veery late not really worrying about his match. Overconfidence keeps being his weak point.

Not taking away anything from Naniwa's win, but stating Naniwa is the better player in that match is just out of scope..

Ending with: "Not taking away anything from Naniwa's win", after saying that MC wasn't taking the tournament seriously is taking away from Naniwa's win.

Why not just celebrate the win?!?

Only worthwhile competition is in Korea. We'll see if Naniwa is any good.
