On June 24 2011 03:50 youngminii wrote: can europeans distinguish these accents from each other? it's fairly recognisable you have french people who have their own type of accent, then you have the german/danish accents, the northern-europe(skandinavian) accents, you have italy/spain with their distinct sound, unfortunatly dutch and belgian people have HORRIBLE accents in english (e.g. rotterdam), usually eastern european people sound a bit different aswell (white-ra, dimaga, strelok :p) - that's about the different categories I have in my mind | ||

Yea, the french/dutch accent is "a lot" different from the eastern european, and well, the swedish accent just feels normal to me ^^ | ||

It's pretty easy for us to recognize people from Ukraine/Russia/Poland since they are similar, Scandinavian is pretty much the same since they actually learn second language really well at school. Then Italian is obvious, Spanish/Portuguese is pretty much the same. German is quite obvious too and well, when you hear someone with a terrible accent, it's pretty much one of us Frenchies. | ||
