The FXOpen Invitational Series is FXOpen's flagship online elimination tournament and consistently delivers top quality games from the best players the world has to offer. In this event we see 32 players invited to a single elimination qualifier to participate in the FXOpen Invitational Series #4 with a $5000 prizepool celebrating 6 months of FXO.
1-2 games from Ro32 and Ro16 will be cast per stream, and all Ro8 games will be cast.
Korean Qualifier Sunday, Jun 26 9:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
The tournament will be a one-day, 32 player invitational event serving as the Korean qualifier for the main event. The 32 players will compete in a best-of-three single elimination competition. The top 4 will qualify and so casting will end at the Ro4. The maps will be determined by vetoe from the following:
Already a pretty stacked tournament. Will any of FXO guys play on KR IS?
I was thinking some of the FXO guys would play off for 1-2 places in this event, as it would be unfair to the team to pick and choose which players enter but unfair to Korean players and fans to have so many places in a Korean event taken up by FXO players.

Just curious, was it intentional that this doesn't include the super top names? (MC, MKP, July, etc.)
MarineKing has been directly invited to the top 16 as he won the FXOpen Invitational Series #3.
We've asked as many teams as possible, so the players or coaches decided to decline their invitation. I'm sure they'll participate in future events, as they have in the past.

Ganzi! this is as stacked as code A, should be a great tournament.

The worst part is that we didn't even notice.
All through the first event I saw endless fxopenis jokes, and it seriously wasn't clicking.

Oh I noticed, it was just too much effort to remake the bracket and I actually giggled at it myself haha xD

Also, this looks like a sick tournament, too bad there are only 2 FXO tags though (well 1 actually, since the "O" in fxoptikzero is actually part of his nick, not the tag lol )

You forgot moonan :O
Ah, I actually forgot qxc lol. Too many random letter
what id like to see if someone does that is park a couple of rax in front of the rax coz he obviously doesn't have the gas for stalks as well as it was just pure lots and sentries but still very hard to hold and hard to have the time to get the rax in front of the bunks good try qxc
There should discourage mirror matches to use similar colors (blue-purple like this Ganzi-aLive game). It's so hard to make out the units on the stream T_T

Yeah, he's a really nice guy and has pretty good English, and helps us out a lot with oGs relations. Plus he's really, really good.
Thanks Unstable, production tab colours not matching up was frustrating the hell out of me too xD
TheStC's build is something I've seen a lot of Korean Terrans doing lately, open with a banshee and follow up with a fast siege + vikings while taking your own expo. Basically try to put up a bit of a contain and deny their expo as long as possible while getting yours up safely.
I guess it was to be expected after how prevalent 1 rax expo has become lately.

Not really, Was a protoss who beat him, he's lost plenty of times to protoss before, think IMSeed and oGsHero were the last two players to keep him out of code A.
Sorry if this has been answered, but why is TheSTC all of a sudden back? I remember seeing his games quite a bit early on in SC2 and then he seemed to disappear. What happened to him?

Glad to see that he's back though.
He was in the army which he was done with like 1 month ago or something.

And Supernova is a pain. He does snarfy things that set him back almost every game, e.g. not cancelling that banshee when there's a viking hovering over head.

He's just (or is about to?) finished his military service.
Haha, awesome. I wasn't following the pro scene before TheSTC left for the military. Was he considered one of the top Korean players back then? Did he also come from BW? Thanks in advance <3

He's finished it and is back in the oGs house. He was assigned a desk job while in the military which allowed him to take part in some online and Korean competitions (notably the FXO Invitationals and the Gainward tournament) where he showed that even with limited practice, he still can hold his own against the top tier players.
He was largely expected to make it back into Code A in July, and almost made it, but unfortunately lost the final Code A qualifying match.
However, I'm looking forward to him making an appearance during the GSTL and owning it up DRG style.
Can't believe I missed TheStC. FXO has some of the most underrated tournaments ever. This is incredibly stacked without a lot of high name-recognition players.

He used to be on IM before he moved to SlayerS. Think he was having a bit of a tough time with his personal life when he was with IM or something. Remember reading an interview along those lines at least.

does anyone else find oGsTheSTC still dominant and consistent in online tournaments?? My favorite terran in terms of drop play etc. in beta / early retail days. I remember the first sc2 cast from GOTMV which was a showcase featuring oGsInCa. THESTC dominated him in xel naga caverns... Hope you do well in offline tournaments STC. Best of luck!!

He always does amazing in the FXO online tournaments, it's a shame he didn't manage to qualify for Code A this time.
