Six months ago the Black Dragon League started off with 16 top players from all over Europe. Since then more than 100 games have been played and finally the top six players have been determined! These players will play for the Black Dragon League Champion and $6.000 overall prize money.
The finals will be held on June 12th starting at 14:00 CEST with the first quarterfinal. The whole matches will be played successively.
Mappool: For the Finals we will renew the mappool to provide fairest competition. This wasn’t possible during the season to ensure the continuity. But the season is now over and the cards are reshuffled. The maps for the Finals are:
- Shakuras Plateau
- Xel'Naga Caverns
- TSL3 Metalopolis
- MLG Shattered Temple
- GSL Terminus SE
- GSL Tal'Darim Alta
- GSL Crevasse

Brat_OK vs Naniwa in finals!
Funny that no zerg manage to made it through.

Nice to see that Malfoy and Two-Face are already qualified for the semis.

yes but there wasn't really any good zergs except for Dimaga
|
The tournament started when almost all of the top players in EU was terrans and a few protoss so that makes kind of sense. Morrow had barely started playing zerg if I remember correctly.
|
Expecting Kas - Naniwa finals, and hoping for Nani to take it.
|
|
If Brat_OK puts his mind to this he's got a good chance imoho. I'd love to see a Brat_OK in baller mode vs Naniwa finals.
|
FINALLY!
Shoutouts to White-Ra, Mana and Dimaga for missing the finals by 1 and 2 games, respectively.
Nani's got the right side of the brackets shut down, anybody's game on the other.
|
strelok is extremly strong lately.. i think it will be a TvT final. strelok vs either kas or bratok

also the problem is in the pretty out-dated map pool featuring stuff like lost temple and delta quadrant ;P
|
Socke looks too happy in his drawing. He should be wielding a battle axe and drinking the blood of his enemies from a golden chalice. Looking forward to these last games and definitely pretty glad about who made it this far.

why are brat-ok and naniva skiping " a match"? ...i see that they re first match will be against the winers of the first matches

thats simply becasue BDL didnt change the maps when they were mid season - still close pos maps and other like lost temple etc. were in the mappool back then

And also because there were only 3 Zergs to begin with: Dimaga, Lalush and Abver. Back then Morrow wasn't that strong with Zerg yet, Darkforce wasn't as good as he is now and todays's Zerg powerhouses Nerchio and Stephano were widely unknown. Also ret was in Korea I guess.

Bratoks face kinda creepy :<

No, Brat_OK will play against either Kas or Socke... he got a better seeding since he had better results.

aaaaw yeah! let's do this :D

this will be legen- wait for it... dary! legendary!!!!

Brat_OK I believe !

Pretty eager to know if Naniwa is able to take this. And I'm also excited to see how BratOK will do :D should be a lot of great games!
|
We don't need no stinkin zergs in Europe.
They're too busy winning elsewhere.
|
|
BratOK looks so bad-ass <3
|
This has to be the weirdest tournament to date. 6 Months with 16 players? wtf. Atleast theres an end to it.
|
Maybe you should take a closer look at the bracket Naniwa and BratOK (due to their ranking) are already qualified for the semi-final whereas the other 4 players will determine their opponents.
EDIT: t_t thought nightfly's comment on page 1 was the last one...

Wow, pretty good game here between Socke and Kas.
|
Crazy first game already Kas-Socke. Feedback against Snipe wars, mass storms and emps over the armies. Several big 200armie fights with fast remaxing... And that while Khaldor could make the most boring match exciting

ridiculous that mass marauder can hold that good vs archon/templar/chargelot/colossi

Mass ghost with good snipes and emps, good upgrades, 10? medivacs, most good positioning through scans. Don´t see any problems

yeah, the fact that he had like 12 medivacs at all times had something to do with it
That's how you play PvT though, great play by Socke.

I can start looking directly on youtube clips at 1080p but here I dont get a screen untill im down to 240p. And 240p is really ridicolous....

Nightend's play in the last game made me sad, why the hell not defend more drops with dts? why not keep the dts in base afterward when he keeps dropping? poor play.
Also the part where he wiped out streloks army, got to his undefended command center and was like, okay, time to go home, sheesh. Oh well, overall the games where awesome, especially game 1.
|
Well done by Strelok but if he wants to win against Nani he really needs to use more ghosts

Strelok!!!!
hope for,, Socke - Strelok in the finals..

Strelok is on fire. Next is Socke vs BratOk. Some nice games are still to come.

I don't understand what's going on. BDL admins changed the grid right exactly after socke's victory. In every site including officials i need to play bratok not naniwa. And i prepared hardly for that match, not for match vs naniwa. I don't know even naniwas build orders. How the hell unproffessional and 1 player-favoured is that???

has been visible for me since many days

In this thread they didnt change it, its always been the same, u were supposed to play Naniwa if u beat Nightend from the start.
|
But obviously they changed something (otherwise Strelok wouldnt have expected to play Bratok) which not only doesnt make any sense but is also stupid - WHY should you change the grid????
|
Socke is awesome, those storms go down soo fast. And the 5 dt warp in to save the main, that's what I'm talking about. Glad to see Socke in top form. I was really worried for him v.s. Kas because kas is so good, but he's just playing so solid, hope his PvP is up to par as well. I'm predicting Naniwa to win next round.

Since there is 1000 $ for third place I would hardly call it irrelevant.

Bratok vicious with the drops, ouch. He hit at such a good time and just the right place. Any later and the colossus and dts would have put socke in a good spot. It's too bad the patrolling obs missed the drop. The area to look for it was so big, drops are so potent on that map.

Suprised Naniwa dident look for a hidden expo there imo there were several tells, no mules in any of the mineral lines he saw, no dropship play to do economic damage.
Streloks whole play assumed he was ahead even though Naniwa saw he got the expo up first, strange game...

you're from sweden,, of course you'll say that..

Well sure, bo3 isnt something impossible. Ofc Strelok could win a bo3, but for example if they played 100 games i think it would be like 70-30 for Naniwa. Not that that makes any sense but my point is that Nani is a better player and the better played did win.

He got rolled by Naniwa, superior micro, macro etc. The game he won he had a hidden expansion, which I can admit that Naniwa should have scouted, but still the game was fairly even.

Me being Swedish has nothing to do with that Naniwa is better then Strelok. Yea they can win, but how often are Naniwa losing to lesser players?

The last game was pretty erratic, lots of good multitasking by BratOk.

Dont get me wrong, i know BratOK is one of the best terrans out there, its just that i watched TB's Invitational and i missed the games, so i was wondering how it finished because last time i saw it was 1-0 for BratOK and he was winning game 2.

naniwa is good man
naniwa is really really good

Wow archons/colossi is a sick strong combo PvP.
|
Archons are pretty good eh?
|
|
i don't get why socke didn't build archons. in eps germany finals he won vs. hasu, because he had archons in his composition and hasu didn't. also i just don't understand pvp anymore :D why do archons change so much, anyone care to explain? higher colossus count + better upgrades and socke still got raped.
|
hm I didnt expect that outcome given Sockes 3-0 upgrades, I guess the charge lots and archons made the difference....

How the hell unproffessional and 1 player-favoured is that??? You would have had to play Naniwa eventually anyway if you're aiming for the final, since he's going to win. Like I said.

no dance this time gg Nani!

Still that sounds terrible for Strelok :/

Naniwa is such a cutie, he really wants to own them koreans...
EDIT: He said so in the interview, if anyone wondered.

Nice finals! Some really great games!
Gz to Nani for the win!

how Brat_OK is the only terran u would put agaisnt kas in tvt razy?
Do you remember that ThorZaIN did 4-1 him in TSL? And EU has a very strong lineup of terrans that can take series off Kas i'm sure.

i surely enjoyed commentating this. i hope everyone else had fun too, amazing way to end this league. <3 BDL
