Doesn't Naniwa have a history of not showing up for events? Not surprising at all to me, really.

If you missed the announcement!!

Naniwa was late for his game with Strelok. He got to his pc and told them he couldnt play he needed sleep because he traveled from DH. Strelok was pissy but ok with it. Naniwa started playing ladder games. They found out and told him if you dont play then strelok can take the win. Strelok hasnt answered but probably will take the win.

haha Naniwa is just Naniwa, so typical.

Btw, where are you guys getting all this info?

If I understand it correctly, Naniwa is getting nailed because he was too tired from travel to play a tournament game, but not too tired to hop on the ladder. Bad form on his part, but it makes sense in a way. Seems NASL isn't distinguishing between a guy's ability to show up on the ladder, and his ability to play an important match. Or maybe that's the stated reason and something else about the situation pissed them off?

Incontrol just talked about the delay and the Naniwa situation for a few minutes on the NASL stream.

meh I'm so dissapointed by this, first White-ra forfeits and then we hear a stream that isn't live has a 2 hour delay + another forfeit tomorrow.
I'm not gonna say it's anyones fault but I hope these are just week 1 issues cuz if we keep having forfeits we can safely say that the EU/NA scene isn't ready for such a big format

What the hell is going on, TWO walkovers in two days? Huge cash price here and naniwa starts to ladder instead and giving a W/O...Is he stupid or somthing?

Let's not exaggerate about Naniwa for no reason. Even though he wasn't playing, he was attending Dreamhack, just like White-Ra. It's all about priorities. Kinda silly to say you need sleep and then play ladder though, even if I can understand wanting to wind down and release some stress, but whatever...

If it were my call I'd just give him a game loss and map choice to Strelok, but looks like they're setting a hard precedent.

NASL really needs to be flexible in scheduling the games. They don't need to play the games the day before. They could do it 2 weeks, 1 week, 2 days before. I'm not sure why they are so strict about playing it the day before its casted.

He basically said "Hey NASL, I'm too tired to play my games, but awake enough to ladder, therefore playing Starcraft 2. I am Naniwa, I can do whatever I want." There's a reason he has a reputation for bailing on events/showmatches/streams etc. and to decide to ladder instead of playing your matches tells NASL I don't care, you should wait for me, and tbh, they made the right decision if this is in fact the case.

For some reason the rebroadcast is being delayed for technical problems. It's not live.

The longer the game been out, the easier the information get leaked.

They need to start to strictly enforce the 45 minute rule. No exceptions, no drama. Show up or its a walkover. gg

The whole thing is pre-recorded, they must have had an encoding issue. Not sure why they couldn't announce a delay earlier, rather than announcing it right when it was supposed to air.

The games are played live (which is why the VoDs don't have a replay bar), and they are cast live (which is why Rainbow lagged and Gretorp/Incontrol weren't just skimming through that). This is then recorded and processed. I don't know if the preshow is recorded as well though.

Just my initial opinion but NASL hasn't been very good at all so far. Pre-recorded with a ton of prep. time and it's still lagging behind live events. It's a good thing they have a commitment for a few seasons because I could see it getting dropped if there weren't future plans laid out.
