It's really unfortunate that the very last game of the day was destroyed by lag... kind of leaves a bad taste even though the rest of the matches went quite smoothly.

Except for the lag stuff this was a very nice day 1. T'was a good start for NASL I think.

So all of you that viewed the stream today know how the lag is actually affecting these online tournaments. Final game, the lag made Rainbow, who all-killed in GSTL2, look like a gold player.

Rainbow really should have at least requested a pause there. If he was suffering really severe lag, there was NO reason for him not to.

Thank you NASL, you have produced a wonderful product and delivered on your promises. There are a few kinks here and there but nothing that detracted from the overall experience. The opening games, fucking, delivers. Can't ask for anything more. $25 well spent.

Looking forward to day 2!

I think NASL need to set up a proxy server and let Korean players use VPN to connect to EU or NA server. It can reduce alot of the lag.
This is very unfair for Rainbow!!!!!

Decided to check back in on the thread. See stuff about lag. What a surprise! Not.

Say what you will, but Rainbow hasn't really been too great for awhile now. I only put my vote on him because I'm not really a MorroW fan (and, yes, I fully expected MorroW to win).

My only correct choices were TLO and Moon, lol. I voted with my heart on Artosis but legitimately expected KiWi to win because Fenix was going a bit below his normal skill while KiWi was flying high before this.

Overall, a pretty good first broadcast. I know people are hating on it, but it was certainly better than MLG in many ways (though, obviously, they're not dealing with that same scale or anything). We also never had to STICK A FORK IN THOSE BUNS over and over again.

Such a good player.

Lol.
When he does it, it works. Morrow just chooses the right counter.

I've seen him play some pretty awesome macro games on his stream, he doesn't only ever baneling bust. He only did that against Jinro because jinro's a hardcore macro player and it's very very hard to beat him zvt in a macro game.

I'm glad this is being casted live instead of replays.

It's not live though... It's pre-recorded =\

The game is casted live, then edited, then broadcasted. So it's both pre-recorded and live casting.

I'm pumped for the rest of the season, there was some small grips I had but I expect they will be ironed out as it goes on!

Feel bad for Rainbow, the lag was obviously a huge issue. Great night of games, good work NASL. Just an anti-climatic final series.

yes, disapointing last game.

overall, very pleased with NASL and it have lived up to the hype for me. I bought the HD pass and watched 1080p full screen all day and the quality is unreal. The stream was super constant and reliable and I had no troubles worth mentioning. I don't even have above average internet, just standard WOW package.

great job NASL, and incontrol and gretorp for giving such a great thing back to the community. i don't think people realize the amount of quality content that is going to come out of this league.

have to say again how good the stream looked....truly an HD pass compared to other HD passes.

I think they are replays

as mentioned by many people already in the thread, these games are casted live, then recorded, and these recordings are then shown to us. so the games themselves are being casted live..

Excellent for a day 1. Now if we could just get the LR threads to under 100 pages of commentary bitching, we'd be set.

To be fair, the league is titled the North American Starleague. The players knew that they were going to be connecting to the North American servers when they entered the tournament. If the Battle.Net Gods punish those that can't connect to North America that well, then it is unfortunate, but the tournament must go on.

Morrow would have won without the lag, anyway.
