Updated: The playoffs have been decided! All VODs are up from the final matches of the group stages. Click here for VODs!
GosuGamers.net is proud to announce the return of our StarCraft 2 GosuCup series sponsored by Razer. It was only seven months ago that Liquid.HuK defeated Mill.Adelscott to be crowned GosuCup Champion. HuK and Adelscott have received invites along with the other two top four finishers, aTnSocke and GGLastShadow.
The event will feature six 512 player open registration StarCraft 2 tournaments where the winner and runner-up of each tournament will advance to a group stage with last season's top four finishers. The top two from each group will then advance to a final bracket stage where they will play for a €1,500 prize pool.
Qualifications and seeds
The first qualifier will be hosted on April 17, 15:00 CET on the European server and anyone with a EU Battle.Net account can enter. Check-in time will be 30 minutes before the start of the tournament. Detailed rules and map pool will be presented when the registration opens.
Each qualifier will alternate between the European and the US servers.
We will be seeding four players into the group stage. Last season's champion Chris "TLAF-Liqiud`HuK" Loranger (#35), runner-up Benoît "Mill.Adelscott" Strypsteen (#26), Giacomo "aTnSocke" Thüs (#27) and Nick "GGLastShadow" De Cesare (#735) will all hold one spot each in the group stage.
Schedule and streams
The first weeks of the Razer StarCraft 2 GosuCup will have six qualifiers, one each Sunday, alternating between 15:00 CET and 15:00 EST depending on the server.
On May 28, we will be going into the Round of 16 with all the qualifiers and seeded players in a group stage of four.
The playoffs will begin on June 11, where the best two players from each group will go at it in a single elimination bracket.
We will begin the broadcast for all the matches from the group stage and onwards, which will be running through late June. Matches will be broadcasted through replay casting due to schedule, lag and time zone issues.
Qualifier tournaments will be streamed live, with semi finals and grand finals released as VODs.

cool thing!
The first one soon after release was pretty good aswell! Looking forward to this
I think this tournament is drawn out too long to follow it closely. Especially when there are so many other tournaments around these days. It`s only 16 players so even with group stage, this can fit easily into 2-4 days of play and not take a whole month.
Please understand this as productive criticism. Still looking forward to the tourney .
Can't wait to see the players that end up qualifying. What a great amount of games (for me to cast) :-)
The tournament does last quite a while, but the idea is to give as many people a chance to play as possible. It also gives people who don't qualify the first time a chance to improve and maybe qualify again in a few weeks. Once qualifiers do finish, the later stages of the tournament will pick up speed and be played much faster.
already some cool players have signed up for this
Only a 167 players, a bit disapointing but glhf to all participating.
Grubby and Morrow failed to comfirm.

Thanks to all who showed up to the first qualifier on the EU server! Results have been updated and congratulations to RunA and Beastygt on being the first two players to qualify for the group stages. In the spoilers below are links to VODs, replays, and interviews.

rsvp and TriMaster qualified in the final qualifier. RSVP went to sleep or something so the battle for first is rescheduled to Tuesday?
Will be casting the first day.
I always get confused by CET/CEST. This starts in an hour?
Yes, they will start in an hour! or so
Just wanted to point out, Darkcell was supply blocked for over 30+ seconds then proceeds to make 6 overlords. And this mover guy just stood his marines around while a horde of banelings charged towards his force. Makes for an entertaining game though

Is Darkcell Stephano? Cause I'm really confused on whether I'm watching the right tournament right now.

Oh, so it's #2?
But that has Nerchio/Merz and not Adelscot/Trimaster? Why schedule so confusing ;_;
There's two different things going on right now guys.

His first big international win, he's won a qualifier or two.
Great games by Grubby. Nerchio let's Grubby have 5 bases vs his 4 and he is surprised he lost?!
Good tourney but this shoutcasting was terrible.
Gratz Grubby!!! well played!
Grubby finally breaking out, congrats on the money, fame, and glory!
on a side note, bming grubby, a legend is pretty bad, watch how (korean) players treat boxer/nada at mlgs/events; rain shaking hands/half bow after losing a frustrating but exciting series at mlg and sen gave boxer the bow when accepting his third place check at NASL.

Besides I will never understand how some guys are able to bm players like Grubby, Sheth, MaNa, ThorZaIN or TLO. They are the most humble and good mannered guys out there with a lot of respect towards every of their opponents.
Congratz Grubby! Awesome games and well deserved win!
