As a european I am not too interested in NA only tournaments. I am perfectly ok with IGN doing such tournaments though, and after all its their money and not mine.

But I really would like if they also give players from other US teams than the big established ones a chance, at least in later tournaments.

I agree Day9 should be a caster in this O_O also where the f**k is Naniwa? The guy just topped out in MLG Dallas .. If you want the best; he ain't certainly there?

Naniwa is from europe. This tournament is just about western players.

I read the PR speech on working together with the NASL (and i must add it was pretty good), but as a content provider, IGN must be worried by the fact their player pool is going to be extremely similar. What are your plans to differentiate your tournament from the competition? What's your best selling point?

As a player who is new to the RTS world ( entered November 10) I have to say that I am extremely excited. I started by watching day 9 and since then have become a huge fan of SC2. First NASL and now this... GL and I will be rooting for you guys to succeed!! Oh and so far from what I can tell it seems like the community is very tough but this seems to be the case with most things that go from obscure to mainstream. Very similar to the boards at sherdog.com where 8 years ago only the hardcore fanatics were there and now you have a flood of new people jumping on the scene. The balance between pleasing both crowds is not easy but with the approach you guys have demostrated thus far ( see OP) I think that you will make the right decisions.

Why is Tyler absent lol? Although he had a rough MLG performace he's without a doubt top 3 Protoss in NA, as well as a BW legend that will draw many viewers. I can't see a reason to have someone like Axslav or Agh (no offense) over Tyler in this tournament.

Just going to post again what I wrote in the other thread shortly before it was closed:

Cool stuff. Don't think it's particularly interesting for me as I think only 3-4 players can really win this and other players are... not so great compared to top 20 of EU. But if you are from NA or interested in NA scene then this is still a nice event. There is enough stuff to play for EU players anyway, and I'm pretty sure they will do really good in NASL (maybe too good for Americans' taste : P)

No iCCup map always disappoints me but guess that's just the way it is now. No new big league would take that risk right now, only the big ones like ESL and MLG. So that's okay, too.

All in all I think I will look at the results sometimes

Ouch, what a tiny prize pool. That's probably a reason why you don't see a lot of those big name players or the TL guys. Also TB. and no Day9. Sadface.

Hopefully the next seasons provide a little more incentive for people to get excited. As it is I think a lot of players will just skip this and snipe the smaller tournaments as the prize pools from those will add up. It's hard to get hyped for a prize pool of this size, with none of the oh so popular TL players and, barring DJWheat, no real high end casting.
