Sucks for us europeans. Because its 9 in the evening here.

I feel for you man I stay up to watch a lot of tournaments in euro and Korea all the time.... This is just embarrassing really.

MLG Promised people who bought HD free HD for the next event.

That's pretty legit of them.

So, I buy a service for HQ streams this weekend and then their fix is that you get a free HQ stream for Columbus months later? It doesn't work that way, I paid for a service this weekend and I expect it this weekend, or a refund. What if I am not around or available for MLG Columbus, what if I go to MLG Columbus, the free HQ stream does nothing for me.

Again terms of service. They did not guarentee it in the fine print and you said I accept and read this phrase.

Gonna stop QQing now ?

Another free pass to another shitty event? Sundance needs to stop hocking shitty t-shirts, get better networking infrastructure, and put SC2 as the main attraction. It's obvious SC2 fans/spectators are what is crashing the servers.

Kind of low compared to 100Mb both ways, or Gigabit.

Kinda sad that some people actually think LAN would help with stream problems. MLG really are rather incompetent, no backup plan for the entirely foreseeable possibility that their servers get swamped.

People are complaining about no games, because of lag, because of no lan.

While the stream does have problems not related to lan, the current set (and most annoying by far of the weekend) is because there is no Lan.

The problem is rather more likely MLGs shitty connection than Blizzard's. Anyway I was talking about the people moaning about LAN and streams which are of course unrelated.

And of course, they should have a backup plan for bnet going down anyway. More of a plan than having 2 guys waffle.

I'm not exonerating MLG of the problems, but quite frankly if there are tech/hardware problems they can essentially be close to unavoidable in some fashion. No LAN support is a huge, huge hindrance because they can't just wizard a way around stability or lag problems.

Fixed.

I never have such bad lag on b-net.

Your internet is also supporting 3 streams, around 60 computers and like 10 console.

Strange that they cant get internet to support 60 computers and 3 streams when dreamhack can support 14000 computers and 20 streams

Man, why is US internet technology so fucking behind this?

I guess the US have a bit more area to cover... cant be the only reason though

Well geez I wouldn't expect 40 GB covering the whole country, but in dense population centres you'd think they'd do a bit better. I get the impression that internet connections is not something the US government put a lot of money into, while Sweden (and other places like South Korea) do.

Government is not the solution..most of the time it is the problem. Which is why there isn't faster internet because of the high cost and red tape involved.

ahahahaha
yes
truly, corporations will solve all of our problems if we just let them run free like the wind

pro tip: every country with good internet had the infrastructure subsidized heavily by its government. it works

In a free market without hindrances to enter the market, it is the solution.

You should read about natural monopolies. Those hindrances you speak of? They're caused by nature.

Infrastructure is expensive. No ISP can run lines to every home, the state should do that and lease to the ISPs.

States don't understand the value of internet infrastructure. It has taken until this year for the governor of Georgia to put money into the Northern part of the state..... even then the infrastructure upgrade just links a lot of USG schools.

I think its a great way to care for your custumers giving us colombus aswell. They are trying to sort this out and I think they'll manage soon! We'll get our games and another event.

Awesome way to compensate for the technical difficulties!

Yes there needs to be some direction by government but it shouldn't be run and paid for by them.
