That's not how you judge people. You judge them based off of overall results, not a single day's performance. You could watch Foxer's first match in GSL2 against BabyWeRRa and go, "Oh, man, this guy is terrible, how could he be in Code S" and ignore all his other accomplishments.

But you can judge on recent performances more than on accomplishments. Read Boxer.

I agree. I'd say SuperNova's code A performance counts a recent.

You are running circles in your argumentation to prove a point now. SuperNova did not play good in these Up and Down matches. Period. TheBest was dissapointing bad, otherwise SuperNova would not be in Code S with the performance he displayed, despite of what he did with mid tier Code A players.
I don't see how you would argue against that.

He played brilliant in Code A, but this was not what I expect from a Code A runner up in Up and Down matches in a very easy group.

Let me show you how to actually substantiate things.

You try to handwave SuperNova's Code A performance by calling the people he beat "mid-tier Code A players". Don't know if you're aware of this, but two of those "mid-tier code A players" happen to be in code S now. Another one exhibited nigh unstoppable PvT in the GSTL, even taking down MVP in a ridiculous macro game. I wouldn't call that "mid-tier Code A". You're not saying anything other than going, "Oh but he played badly in the Up/Down matches", which is hardly a substantial argument for being undeserving of Code S.

No need to getting overly aggressive, maybe you should cool down, read what you quote, and then type, I don't want to start needless rage in here.
I said he played brilliant in Code A. That said, as you said, from 5 persons he beat, 3 are still in Code A, its not that he played creme de la creme in there, solid players, yes, but no magicians.
He deservedly got 2nd place in Code A, and is allowed to pick players.
He picks 2 Terrans that are just not good (at that point in time), knowing he has to play 2 TvTs.
Then he loses the first game he doesn't need to if he plays on the safer side, and wins the second as TheBest from the beginning refuses to want to win the game.
Hence, I am dissapointed by his performance. I expect him to show very confident TvT if he picks it. He didn't.

That said, you first criticized people for saying that SuperNova did not play good in these matches and some other players and therefor they are torn seeing him in Code S instead of others, based on these matches.
Then you say you cannot judge people on single performances.
Then I contradict you, to make clear why you can in this circumstance, and what people referred to.
Suddenly you say you can judge people on single performances.

I see where you're getting confused by semantics. Or, you could be nitpicking at semantics instead of merely misinterpreting them, which would be pretty lame on your part, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt. When I say single day's performance, I mean literally a single day's performance. When I say "SuperNova's Code A performance", that's a cumulative thing that better illustrates his skill level. Overall Code A performance and a single day's performance are FAR different things. One actually works for making a fairly accurate judgment of someone's skill, but the other does not.

And sure, you can turn around his Code A accomplishments by restating beating two now-code S players as also beating 3 still-Code A players, but that's just a mere restatement. It doesn't change the fact that he totally rolled someone as good as Alicia, and came close to beating someone as good as LosirA.

I think this game rainbow should do the build where you make a highly mobile army, a-move it into a sturdy but immobile army, die, log in to team liquid, and post about pvt imbalance.

they should have seeds in these up and down matches. so all our favorite players have a good chance of getting into code S, instead of having these death groups determined at random where the champs have to fight each other

He just had a really big drop in his main, he should have had a pylon at the bottom base to catch those things, in situations like those you need to split your Colossus, he just wasn't ready for it. No amount of micro could have saved those Nexus's.
