I met quite a few Taiwanese people, I worked at a theme park and they came over for a summer program, and most of them didn't like the Chinese (who worked at a separate theme park) and they would get really offended if you said that Taiwan was part of China. There are Taiwan nationals who would take offense to being called Chinese, and then there are Taiwan nationals who would take offense to NOT being called Chinese. It depends on the crowd, though it's probably true that there's more people in the former camp than the latter camp. Still, best to steer clear of the whole debate. | ||
