If enough people are interested I'm up for organizing an impromptu money pool for the top finishers. The head organizers decided against making this an officially money tournament because the lack of ability to install drivers for equipment could inhibit top performance.

So no drivers. Do the comps have logitech setpoint or something similar? I use the side mouse buttons as Shift and Ctrl (Hooray no carpal tunnel).
I've never played the non-ladder maps. That should pose an interesting challenge.

Lul, it's the communication and journalism school that's stacked with hot sorority girls, but the tournament's on a saturday anyway so there aren't that many people around.
Also, like Kraznaya said, even if you don't get into the tournament, you should still come and hang out. All of the comps also have PS3s,X360s, and Wiis hooked up so if you bring games and controllers, we'll be converting the computers to freeplay once were in single elims.
Not to mention we're right by K-town which has some of the best food on Earth...

jane you guys realize that it's the USC vs Cal gameday at home that day...? luckily it's an early game at 12:30 but there might be a lot of traffic and people on campus after the game is over. actually i just saw that the event is starting at noon. campus is gonna be PACKED.

WHY THE FUCK IS THIS ON SATURDAY. The USC vs Cal game is at 12:30. No self-respecting Trojan would miss it. And I don't know how people are even going to get here... It will be absolute total madness for the football game, campus packed to the gills with tailgaters, etc. This should be on Sunday.
I would be on this like white on rice except for such a stupid scheduling conflict. :'(

The stream is up for the winners bracket finals...aretemadison vs hyungbean. Look them up - I'm suprised that we managed to get 8 top 200 NA players at usc into the top 16 =_= (I got knocked out in groups, although to be fair i was in the hardest one by results)

Big thank you to the people who made this tournament happen. The location was pretty sweet, with every competitor having their own computer.
The level of competition was surprisingly high, the tourney was smooth, and everyone was pretty cool. Got some good critique of my game from better players, which I wouldn't get outside of that setting. (i.e. "Stop watching the battles")
Won a sweet ThermalTake CPU fan, and gave away enough Red Bull to keep a rave going. More SoCal LANs like this one!
