This will continue until the Round-of-Eight (Ro8) whereupon these players qualify for the Day 2. Day 2 (Sunday May 30th, time TBD) will be a 16-player Double Elimination tournament, best-of-three format. The top eight players from the first tournament recieve seeding into this round. In the case of a seed being unavailable, the replacement player will be chosen at random out of the two next-highest ranking participants. Stream to be determined, if you wish to offer to stream all or part of this event please check the TL calendar and make sure it doesn't co-incide with something else you want to watch!

Kamina will be in Sydney I think, maybe GLaDe too so someone else might win money for once. Will try time the tour so they can make it if they get back to Bris at a reasonable time, though.

Also Paz the seedings were based on the 1st TransTasman, not the CyberGamer Mar Sara tourney so you didn't get in

You should base seedings on who the top players in the countries are imo, not that I can play this one so it doesn't bother me but it would be a better practice for running large tournaments.

Consider combining the cybergamer tourney results too? I mean you are definitely familiar enough with the scene to know that the current seedings don't represent the actual current "top8". I don't see how accurate using a single tournament is for results, when there was another more recent one with vast majority of the same players participating.
Just incase it sounds like I'm whining for a spot - to clarify I don't want a spot, and I'd like to play in saturdays brackets. But maybe this is something to consider in the future.
Oh I do think you should do some seeding for the saturday tournament though, just so we have more chances of having some much better ro16 games the next day.

There will be rough seedings for the Saturday tournament, when I enter them I usually but the better players first in the list so it should work out OK though there are bound to be some less favourable matchups.
Also I think it would be a little silly to use seeding from two different tourneys just because there happens to be two, I can't think of any ongoing tournament that would arbitrarily use another tournament's results for its seeding when the week before it had its own tournament to draw seeds from. Obviously there is also some overlapping so it's not as simple as taking the top4 from each, there would be a ridiculous case where people in the RO8 of one tour would qualify but others who got to that same round wouldn't.

Actually I decided, if anyone happens to donate and there ends up being a prize for 3rd place then I will formally seed Saturday's tournament, but as it stands you are going to have to be good to get into the finals and hence win some cash anyway so formal seeding for day 1 is not really required - though hopefully it turns out good for most people so they can have fun and put on a nice show.

mOOnGLaDe may not be able to make it, if that's the case, tets, fpx, Pwnstar and Petrified are all equally next in line for a seed and fpx and petrified both got to the same round in the CyberGamer tournament so maybe we could organise next week a little round robin between you guys to determine the seedings among you four only, in case GLaDe or other seeds can't make it. The order after a round robin will be the order in which you recieve seeding if there are withdrawals.

This is correct, sorry to those who performed well in the CyberGamer Mar Sara Trials but it's not really practical to take seeds arbitrarily from two different tourneys. Don't worry though because there will be somewhat of a seeding in the Saturday tournament and the better placed players will recieve preference for byes and be further from each other.

Yeah, I have no idea - the whole identifier system is stupid to begin with imho. The only 'benefit' it provides is allowing duplicate names, which I think is horrible to begin with. It's only going to add to the confusion. I bet you there will be at least five people calling themselves XxSephirothxX come release.
I'm guessing some people got confused, and thought the identiifer would be visible at all times. I saw a few names at the start of beta (via ladder, results screen) that only made sense when combined with the identifier.
But at least they are taking one step forward for the two steps they took backwards earlier, and we'll be able to add people via the old system for tournaments and whatnot.
In either case, looking forward to the tournament, it should be epic! First one was really fun.
