Hi there guys.
Nevelhaze and I in association with gaming cafe The Mad Processor are going to organize a tournament here in Amsterdam in gaming cafe The Mad Processor. This tourney is available for everybody and there are a total of 32 spots available. Our aim is to get a big tourney going for mainly the benelux community. People from other countries are welcome too.
Here is the deal
- 32 spots available for gamers (including PC's) - Entry fee is 25 euros. Now this may seem expensive but the thing is that its actually convient. 15 euros goes to the owner for renting the place and 10 euro's goes to the prize pool. This means if there are 32 people here, the total prize pool will be 320 euro's plus some additional gifts. - The tourney is available for every one. Its not skill based and this means you can play bad as well as good people.
Map pool
- All maps are played with exception of Coalition and Twilight fortress. The map pool for the brackets, quarter finals etc. will be revealed on the day itself.
Rules
- You NEED to have your OWN SC2 account. - Cheats are not allowed, obviously. - Tourney rules will be explained in the mail you will receive when you registered.
We hope there will be a lot of players that will compete in this tourney. As we said, there are 32 spots available so sign in as quick as possible.

Pholon, sadly there are only 32 computers to use. If there would be more I would've raised the contestant cap. Unfortunately it isnt possible though.

I'm quite unfamiliar with how this kind of thing goes I will admit, but I assume I can't bring my own computer (laptop)? You can at least bring your own gear though right (mouse, keyboard)?
Also I dunno how I feel about the 10 euro to prizemoney.I'll just be coming to meet people and hang out, I don't expect to have a shot at the prize at all, so I'll just be paying ret/naz 10 euros to be able to do that? Seems odd but I guess it's normal policy?
Also are more people allowed to come apart from the 32 competitors? Just to hang out and have a chat etc?
it is normal policy - don't be a leech and contribute to the community

I'm stupid, I read all the text two times wondering why the date wasn't there and just overlooked the picture entirely.

don't call me a leech, it's not what I mean. I'll just be going for the hanging out with fellow nerds. I want the people to want to hang out with me, not pay for their company (although that does be legal in Amsterdam...)

you can take your own gear, not your own pc (: not sure about friends, but usually they are just allowed to enter the building and support you.
Ofcourse you can bring your own gear, Thats np. The laptop however I dont know. Is it for gaming purposes or other things? As for the prize money: we thought it would be cool to give it some cash prices in order to make it more interesting. I dont think ret and naz are the only ones that have a shot at the price money. There are more players in the Benelux that are good enough to take the money home. People can come and watch too without playing, thats no problem. People making trouble however and just sit there and annoy people will get removed by me personally .
sounds awesome, registration mail sent! ; ))
I sure hope i can make it that date, sounds really good =3
Well i signed up, (wrote an email to it), do you get a respond after you send the email? because it is prettty weird that i still don't know if i am in ore not.
Any idea on an actual time? I could at least come and hang out but it depends on what time this is going to go down
sounds good, and its only 2 hours drive for me. might actually attend and mb spend a weekend in amsterdam with a couple of buddies. (and come home with 0 euros spent total? :D)
is there any way to have a look at the momentary attendance list?
I'll be there ^.^ ahh 87km, but I hope its worth it Also I'm taking some mates with me

i'm going to guess the beta stopping for a few weeks at the end of may is going to interfere with this tournament?

Netherlands4511 Posts
can this tournament be moved to the end of may? Would ppl still be interested in coming for A SC:BW tournament? ( I have a feeling Socke won't!!) :O
Planned to go, but can't go any earlier because of school ;( Busy period until june, and ofc SC:BW would be cool too.
Due to the announcement of blizzard the LAN is unable to take place at the 12th of june. ( http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=24915043027&postId=249127311679&sid=3000#0 Battle.net Forums - Source ). This is very unfortunate. Therefor we are planning to give it another try. We want a starcraft 2 LAN in Amsterdam!!
As many people noticed, the only good option left is the 29th of MAY. So this month already!! I hope you guys can still come to THE MAD PROCESSOR to participate in this LAN.
Participants will receive a mail about this ''date-switch''.
For further questions contact: dutchsc2tourneys@hotmail.com
I do not know if I will be able to go. I will be in Amsterdam on may the 29th. But not sure if I can make time for this. If I can ofcourse I will go

What's the planning? At what time does the tournament start?
Ok, the date as well as participants is confusing now. I'm keeping an eye on this thread.
Oh, and I'd love to give ret 10 euro's for all the times I've watched his streams and watch him perform in tournaments!
I'm gonna try to attend too, but i need more info's =D
Has an update email been send to the participants? I haven't recieved any updates about a new date. Is May 29th a confirmed new date for the tournament ?
The update e-mail will be send today. All participants will get all the new information.
And yes. May the 29th is the new date for the LAN.

I'd like to go but got no money to go to amsterdam :/

@pholon
That event will take place at 8:00pm CET. So if you are still there you can watch it of course.
Can you scrap me for the list, i thought i could come first but i dont know chemistry enough to go there. Because it would be inbetween my exams sorry 'guys!
Is Anyone gonna stream this event? Martijn?
Btw a minor detail but still relevant... ( havent seen it being mentioned so there )
When will the tournament start? what time and when will it end and what time does gamecenter close?
Thankyou
with the current state of bnet itll hardly be possible to do the tourney.. the event is still gonna happen? or are you guys gonna wait if bnet smoothes up?
I hope blizzard fixes bnet on time. Somehow I doubt it though.
@Suna: the tournament starts at 2pm, it says so in the mail you received :p Don't know what time it finishes, though.
If Bnet acts up too severely we could always rock-paper-scissors for the prize pool!
Bnet is down now. I think they are fixing the issues!
Bit expensive tbh, 25€ is just lolz. The i-net café should fix the price money. This aint a 'hosted' tournament, its a tournament we host ourselves. Thanks but no cigar hf there
You're wrong. Nevelhaze and I hosted the tournament. The fee is too pay for renting the place and to have a decent price pool. But then again, dutch people are mostly cheap. Voor een dubbeltje op de eerste rij zitten toch?
2 PM also if u sent an email to enter the tournament u should get an email saying what time it starts

Wow, 9th place, nice thats higher then I expected. Was fun seeing some of the better players irl. Thanks to organizers, would have preferred to know the tournament format beforehand and some stricter guidelines with maps and player admittance but none the less all is fair in friendly casual tourney Hopefully more of this local tourney goodness after launch.
Anyway to change my nick to seamus or SeamusNL ?
