Not to take anything away from this event, but in your opinion as a pro, do you think Sen and TLO are both taking this as seriously, since Sen just won that ridiculous bo7 for $$$$, and this is just a show event?

I doubt anyone is capable of delivering the exact same focus in these games as the focus you have in the final of one of the biggest tournaments, so it just depends on how you would define "serious". I guarantee they are both trying to win and they are both in practiced shape as well, so imo these games still deliver near their highest quality of play.

Spoilers for Sen vs TLO
+ Show Spoiler +
I can't believe Sen's comeback! He was so far behind yet still managed to come back with a sizable lead over TLO. These players are both so good.

True, it definitely looked like both players were in great form for those matches.

For those who haven't seen the Kaspersky Cup finals, I suggest you find the VODs as soon as humanly possible.

I feel TLO is not at his best today, and Sen is also only 80% geared, especially comparing with the semi-finals in the world cup, but still GGs.

TLO really threw the game away. SHould have stopped producing hellions some time in midgame and instead getting like 8-10 mauders and it would have been gg. Hellions + vikings are really awful at finishing the game.

Yeah this is true. And some people will play better without pressure. Also, winning an important series can give you momentum and confidence going into your next event.

I think TLO is playing better than he did in the Altitude Invitational, honestly, where he went 1-5. I think he's getting a lot better at handling the psychological aspects of tournament gaming.

GGs all around.

5-4 today. 7-4 in their overall encounters (3-1 in the EU vs. Asia match, 4-3 in the PLU Kaspersky Cup). TLO performed very well, showing that he's not daunted by his recent tournament losses and that he's capable of adapting to Sen's style. Sen is, well, Sen - the world class Zerg who consistently beat the best of the EU (ie White-Ra, TLO, Demuslim), and who, personally, would be winning a lot more tournaments if not for his vulnerability in ZvZ.

Though hellions kill so many drones and zerglings, I'm still not sure it is a good strategy.

TLO‘s ground forces are just Hellions. It seems that sen is very passive under TLO's harass, but gains and losses balance each other.Hellions can't give sen a substantive hit.

In my opinion,Sen is using a delaying tactic.

But mauders is not a good choice. They will be besieged by zerglings easily.

Oh, but there is something special about Asia, and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of it in the days to come

There's also something special about Europe, though. Ah, the frustration of being an American when your continent is not being represented.

Ah, yes, certainly. I did not mean to imply that Asia in inferior, more so pointing out the fact that Asia is not superior. I recognize and really like the fact that Asia and Europe tend to produce different playstyles, and I love that. In that way, they do each have their own special twist. I was just hoping this would help a lot of people realize that the dominance Korea had in BW will not be present in SC2.

Seems to me that Asia is already superior and the game hasn't even been released yet. Asia is 9-4 in this series, I'd say that's quite dominant.

I think all it proves is that Asia has MORE people playing the game seriously and definitely has more top players. But if Dimaga wins the 17173 tournament.. well.. it had pretty much every top sc2 player in it.
