I voted for NASL...but DreamHack > MLG Columbus in that poll, I guess it fell out of people's minds. NASL finals was so amazing, they've learned a lot going forward.

This isn't really fair, the hype is still right there.
Games wise the NASL had it easily. However, like many threads are quick to point out....their production....wow....just how could that happen...
My votes towards MLG
Dreamhack is still amazing though, so much love to them

NASL had quite some difficulties at the beginning that made it not the best. It was still fantastic though.
MLG has my vote.

Just on the games, which are the most important, I have to go with the NASL. Quality of the games come first over all the rest.

Columbus baby, dreamhack was good too, Nasl had really good games but i dont want to vote for them due to the production failures, was kinda saved by the quality of play.

Both MLG and NASL proved fans and their energy make an event, even when watching from home, so much better, but MLG wins because NASL still has lots to learn production wise and the sound guys know all about that. Although NASL's games, in my book, give it a small edge in that respect.
DH just felt, I don't know, too cold for me :S I wasn't excited at all during the event.

Overall atmosphere - MLG Columbus.

Production quality - Dreamhack.

Game quality - NASL.

The sound / stream issues that plagued the NASL finals set it a tier lower than the other events, so it was basically a toss-up between Cbus and Dreamhack. I think MLG delivered a smashing good performance to make up for Dallas, it really was an excellent tournament all-around, so my vote goes to them.

As an event without a doubt MLG columbus... 2000 rabid fans, mc throat slashing, IdrA flipping off people, MMA killing his own command center. What else is there to ask?

As for the quality of games NASL has always provided epic matchups through the regular season and at the playoffs we saw many EPIC series that came down to a final game, making it so tense to watch.

As for the production value Dreamhack Summer takes this one but I was REALLY annoyed by the fact that they only showed the semi-finals and finals in the studio (correct me if i'm wrong) and during most of the tournament kept the audience in a tent that really was too small for the amount of people assisting. Hopefully Dreamhack Winter expands their studio because they were PACKED and I can only predict that that audience will only grow with the next event.

So with all this said, I gave my vote to MLG Columbus.

Side note: I hope that the event organizers of these tournaments look at this poll and try to make their tournaments even 1000x better.

MLG was awesome but best of 3 all the way through with the exception of Extended series make it so frustrating to watch. The crowd was best at NASL and so were the games. Production at Dreamhack wasn't as good as their invitational so it has to go to NASL which is pretty good for them since they had the least amount of games, but they were all broadcast on the main stage.

NASL only had about 3 or 4 good series, though they were all incredibly entertaining so much so they almost cause the production problems to be overlooked. Almost....

Dreamhack had the best production obviously and no real difficulties in broadcasting. MC casted with Totalbiscuit. There were a lot of good series but not one was quite as good as the ones from the NASL. Huk took one home for the foreigners (though the finals were kinda weak).

MLG was sort of intermediate of the above. Some problems, but a storm is outside their control. Lot of cool moments (such as idra defeating himself...AGAIN). Felt like it got more in touch with the players and tried to follow their stories throughout the tournament. Arguably better games than dreamhack.

I gave it to Dreamhack just because of huk :p.

What a strange time for a vote on it, with people still pumped with adrenaline from the NASL finals. :O
Games were good but organization was way better at DH summer which gets my vote.

For me the most memorable thing from any live event is the final match. Puma and MC simply delivered incredible nailbiters thus voting NASL. (also as far as final matches are concerned, HSC3 and TSL were more exciting than MLG columbus and DH summer)
Overall, however, all three events were very pleasant to watch.

nasl finals were cool, but let's be real: there were 9001 hours between games, a lot of the games were kind of anti-climactic, and I wasn't in cali for the nasl finals like I was in columbus

Anaheim WILL win, so this poll is just a formality.

I gotta say I was very impressed with NASL's fan/player interaction. Absolutely every fan there had a chance to get autographs, take pictures, or just chat it up with all the players and Starcraft celebs. I myself sat next to White-Ra during the first few Ro16 matches, chilled with Morrow in line to get some Nachos, had casual conversations with Gretorp and Ret, took a photo randomly with Puma and July, and even got to have a few words with oGsMC! After every match, players were made available for autograph signings and photo ops. Even though the autograph lines stretched all the way to the front door, the players were happy to stick around and sign everyone's stuff. Very cool!

MLG had the best crowd/ atompshere, matches were okay but the fans made it great.
(Also it was mostly a redemption from their previous one)

Dreamhack had amazing coverrage with so many streams (Mistakes learned from the expense of MLG )

NASL had the best finals (probally one of the game 5 might be one of the best games of SC2 for a long time) bar none, but everything else was meh

How the hell do you expect us to decide? They all produced top quality, nail biting games, the only thing one can complain about are sound issues with interviews in NASL.

NASL did have some great matches, but so did Columbus... Naniwa and MC, Idra collapsing... come on now.

The NASL production was pretty awful, right up to the very end I was yelling fire the sound guy. Camera's were even terrible, looked like 80's home movies. They get that stuff squared up and they will be on par with MLG.

First NASL finals were not bad for a first, but MLG is more established and has more events going on simultaneously. besides a bigger budget allows for a more fancy production

MLG for the production quality, nasl sucked up until semfinals, then it really started getting good. Didn't expect finals to be more epic than sen vs mc

Dreamhack had the production value, the game quality, and the storyline(Huk!). I'm really surprised it's in last place, but I imagine it's mainly because NASL just finished so the hype is still high. IMO the only thing NASL had going for it were the semi finals and finals games. It's a good thing for them that a lot of SC2 fans have short memories apparently.

Wow. 33% voting NASL aren't all trolls? Come on, you couldn't have followed MLG/DH if you think NASL had them. NASL had higher budget for everything, which wasn't used as well as smaller ones were in DH/MLG. I'd vote NASL as 3rd even if it was as good as others, considering what it could've been.

umm NASL then MLG, are y'all trolling me. DH had best production value started on time everytime! and streamed all its games, that's alot of games! I feel like it's just a Tasteosis effect.

Seriously a tournament that has its finals in a concert hall is below tournaments that happen in convention centers?

I voted NASL, because while the production was terrible, that finals was so insane. I'm EU, so was in bed when it came on, absolutely exhausted. I edned up sat up on the edge of my bed around the mid-point of Game 2. I've never been so tense over a series than I have with that. That's why it got my vote.

Overall : Dreamhack

Best Experience: Homestory Cup

Best Games: NASL

Poll is too vague as someone else mentioned.

NASL's games were good, but there was way too much waiting between games and they posted the wrong time schedules which screwed over a lot of people.

Columbus, easily.

NASL had the best finals, but it's terrible first day and all weekend long audio problems ruled it out as the top choice. Columbus' crowd, constant games, low amount of filler, and the use of the casters made it the best. Dreamhack was good, but the crowd was really only used for the final.

You also have to look at the open bracket for MLG. The fact that there is still highly competitive professional Starcraft play while us nooblets can buy a pass and compete at the same event is amazing. Then because all the competitors were there playing Starcraft, they're even more amped to be spectators. Great production quality and everything from the fellas at MLG.

But this is not a detraction from NASL or dreamhack. Both still ended up being fantastic events in their own rights as well.

dang my memory is so horrid only thing I do remember is that MLG had me ready to purchase ticket for next one. The dual streams and getting to choose who to watch was just way to awesome...

NASL finals though was pretty amazing. I don't play P or T and generally don't even watch to many non z games. But even I was pumped up in my house for MC coming back.

To me, the most important thing is the games. And NASL had the best games. DreamHack and MLG did other stuff better, but they also should. They've have way more experience.

NASL delivered on games and thats number one in my eyes.

I loved the players and the games at NASL but man...organization and production of the event just put me off big time. You just cant have prize pool amazingly high like that and fall short on delivering the show.

I hope this was a kinda lesson learnt experience for the NASL and it will come back stronger in season 2.

DreamHack has to take it. HD free stream, basically no stream errors, and free VODs. What other sport makes you pay to watch the games, or else you just get to watch a pixelated production? I guess, what other sporting event lets you watch whenever you want as well? That's a hard call, but with as many people turning out as they had and free VODs, it just has the air of a professional environment. The idea to make sponsorship money, and then ask for money from the people already being advertised to just doesn't sit well with me. That said I specifically bought a Sony Ericsson phone because they sponsor MLG and TLO, and I emailed them to let them know specifically that fact, but then turning around and paying for VODs just feels dirty.

dreamhack clearly, was such an epic expereience and can't be compared to anything tbh. And there was 7 more tournaments that was just as exciting as the sc2 one.

This. I cant believe how NASL has any votes on that apart from the overhype from the great final matches. People said shit after shit after shit of the production, technical issues, people involved, schedule, etc, etc, etc.....the bo7 finals were really good and everyone forgets everything and its now getting a huge % of voting?

I agree with milkis...this vote should have never been done so close after the end of the tournament, biased opinions showing right there (and yeah you can try to say im biased towards dreamhack and sad its in last place but that is just not true. I voted for MLG. I just find it odd that NASL has this many votes).

Also I dont have nothing against the NASL. I wasnt in the "this is the worst event ever" bandwagon, despite having some complains, I kept them to myself because I understood that it was the first season and they were doing their best to improve and give us the better experience possible. The same way I didnt jump into the worst ever, im not going to jump to the omg it was best event ever bandwagon just because the final gave us some really exciting games.

Nonetheless Im looking forward to the next NASL and Im sure a lot of improvements will be made and, by the end of next season, if the NASL gets this many votes for the best event I wont find it strange

Dreamhack for all those streams and the ability to watch every game you like. Next would be NASL finals (as opposed to group stage) and last MLG due to lack of games shown.

NASL ended on a high note. Almost erased all the previous troubles, but you have to think that the success that MLG and Dreamhack had created a wave of interest that carried over into NASL. That many people just don't show up to watch a stream out of the blue.

The question is that will MLG Anaheim ride the wave and be even bigger? I'm guessing yes. My prediction is 100k viewers all weekend long.

Homestory Cup!

I voted MGL though. Overall best event. The NASL finals did go a long way to make up for the bad production, but MLG had great games as well. But I really feel Homestory Cup should be in this poll. I think it has done the most to further particularly western esports.

nasl finals was a pretty bad event, like worse than mlg dallas bad, except for quality of the semis and finals games which were as epic as epic gets

mlg won production

dh won delivery of content

i'll have to go with DH first for the full coverage on streams, best tournament format and slightly superior games, with Columbus close second for the atmospehere, storylines and production value, and Nasl a distant third for some good commentating and semis/finals games quality.

HSC3 takes the grand prize though

Dreamhack had FLAWLESS free HD streams, free VODs. Pretty much no technical issues whatsoever. And let's not forget the god-tier final between Huk and MC.

MLG was almost on par with DH just that they had fewer streams and you had to pay for the best quality, but other than that it was almost perfect.

NASL however doesn't even come close to DH and MLG, i'm not hating on their thing, i respect the hell out of anyone who is trying to get E-sports recognized but it seriously just didn't work out this time. I hope season 2 works out better for them.

The entire internet flipped their shit over all the numerous issues with NASL, 1 hour breaks before the games, audio quality was atrocious, projector issues at the venue etc.

How anyone can pick NASL out of these three is beyond me.

As mentioned above, if this poll would have been posted a week from now when the NASL hype would have died down, the results would be completely different.

Really sad to see the poll results. NASL was a really crap event let's be honest. 3 hour breaks, shitty sound, shitty interviewer to try to "kill time" going around interviewing random ppl and having no clue about anything. Just because the final games were good doesnt make the event good.

DreamHuk, obviously. The name itself justifies it, but just the general streaming quality and minimal hiccoughs was ace.

Dreamhack >= MLG > NASL imo

Dreamhack was kinda flawless all around, the only thing MLG may have had better was a bit more player interaction (but Homestorycup > all in this regards ) and the MLG crowd seemed a bit more enthusiastic. Compared to that, Dreamhack had a better stream quality, and more streams, and as an EU guy, the schedule fitted me best

NASL well... it was NASL, Even if the production failures created some hilarious situations, the terrible format, and the schedule were kinda annoying. Still the games quality was excellent so it saved the day in the end

NASL had SUCH an epic finals, but only because the players made it epic. The production quality of NASL was a real let down. Can only hope that season 2 they really learn from their mistakes. MLG however, was perfect.

depends what you mean, most of nasl was pretty bad, the ridiculously amazing final left them with a great finish but that can't really be contributed to nasl.

Why do these polls always pop up just after one event as finished? They become so biased! NASL Finals wouldn't be close to MLG Columbus and Dreamhack Summer if it wasn't for the epic finals being so fresh in peoples minds :o!

People seem to have forgotten the massive problems with the first day(s) of NASL finals already....

MLG Columbus got my vote, but just barely edged out Dreamhack Summer!

MLG columbus no doubt.

Dreamhack lacked the excitement of MLG, mainly due to that fact that only the finals were casted in front of a live audience, and NASL would have been terrible if it wasn't for a couple of the series played.

As great as the finals turned out for NASL, overall their event just wasn't that good. Dreamhack and MLG Columbus both had great games and put on a great event with good games, but I have to give the edge to Columbus just for casting in front of a crowd all weekend long.

Gotta go with MLG on this one.

Overall as an event, MLG > NASL

The crowd and games themselves of the NASL finals, however, beat out MLG.

(HSC!)>MLG>DH>NASL
pretty simple actually
its more than a "production"
putting some computer-graphics on a screen (DH) doesnt make it automatically better or more professional.I mean everyone could buy these programms to make such things
i think its more about the general atmosphere, the casters, the fans and the games of course

MLG had the best atmosphere in my opinion. Both the NASL and dreamhack didn't feel that exciting for me.

NASL first followed closely by MLG Columbus. It just comes down to the games, and NASL had the best games.

Doesnt matter how big the stupid prize pool is to us viewers, could be $10 and as long as its a good torny the viewrs dnt care how much the players earn as we couldnt care less, so just coz mlg has less prize money it doesnt make it worse.

I dont get how anybody could vote NASL here. MLG and DH were somewhat on the same level. But NASL was just a nightmare. The only reason this event might not go into SC2 history as the biggest waste of price money ever was an exciting final series. (Which happened to occur between two players who will most likely face each other a lot in the upcoming GSL seasons, thus reducing NASLs added value.)
The player pool of the NASL finals was worse than at MLG or DH (not to speak of HSC3). The Production was horrific, both technically and in terms of scheduling. The commentators were the same as everywhere else. So what exactly speaks for NASL, other than the fact that some people cannot recall an event that took place more than 2 days ago?

MLG > Dreamhack > NASL Finals

MLG weakpoints:
The system needs to change a bit, i like the idea though.

Dreamhack weakpoints:
Audience. The atmosphere is missing. + the maincasters didnt cast from the main stage. huge minus.

NASL Finals weakpoints:
strange seedings. Soundproblems. Anna prosser sining??? and god - we dont need 2 hour breaks between bo3s. Everything else was ok though, the games itself were great - especially Sen-MC and MC-Puma

A word to "HomestoryCupIII":
Its simply different, you cannot cmopare it to the others. it clearly has its weaknesses as well, especially some casts...

Anyone who votes for Dreamhack Summer need their head checked.

While it was a great moment for Huk and the non-Korean community, the games themselves were short and cheesy. Not quite as epic and tense as the NASL finals (though ending in cheese).

OK nevermind this is for the whole event. -.-

I think that Dreamhack and MLG were both a step ahead of NASL.

The problem that I had with MLG was that all of the games were best of three, and the extended series if players had to meet again.

I would have loved the inclusion of TSL3 and Homestory Cup III. Out of the choices available, I picked Dreamhack. Dat der production be slick. MLG Columbus was very good as well.

As for the (finals?) games, it'd be either TSL3 or NASL Season One.

Voted for Dreamhack summer mostly because I was there live... and the atmosphere was amazing^^. Close contacts with the players, HuK winning the finals and awesome people. For a swedish guy I obviously like less spontan and... random roars... The audience at DH were atleast knowledged of the players very well. MLG was awesome obviously... IdrA vs MMA, priceless. However.. NASL... how did you fuck up so bad... it was an amazing final... but the end song... and no tastosis or day9 casting the final match... Sorry That was just horrible.

Come on, Dreamhack was played in a tent away from the players. NASL obviously had worse produciton quality but was a better experience. MLG over both by a landslide.

Dreamhack and MLG were incredible, but there's no way to go against NASL. The games were amazing and the production was slightly amateur. And I do NOT mean the latter in a bad way. They were clearly new to the whole live production scene, and it showed, but what they put out was awesome and shows clear potential for gargantuan improvement. Season 2 of NASL could be the best SC2 production in the world now that they have some experience under their belt.

This is a near perfect breakdown in my opinion. Well done. I do give a little more credit to NASL though. That was their first live event, and once they work out some of the kinks from the lack of experience, they have the potential to blow DreamHack and MLG out of the water. Only time will tell.

Since the poll says 'NASL finals' and not 'NASL' I voted for NASL finals. NASL itself had too much issues that could easily be avoided, but the finals were just amazing.

Otherwise I would probably have voted for Dreamhack summer if the poll said 'NASL'.

[EDIT] I am a noob. Just realized 'NASL finals' was the name of the event. Should have voted for DH.

Interesting that DH won the last poll vs MLG but is now losing... I guess that poll was too soon after DH and those who voted for it still had their hype helmets on.

Anyway, personally I like MLG the most purely because of the crowd; they were going nuts and MLG were smart enough to show that to the audience at home.

As far as quality of games, I might have to say NASL, however that isn't a fair representation of an event. Waiting full hour (or more) between every single match was unbarable.

MLG was flawless. Generally at most 15 minutes between games, great variety, incredibly good production value, and a greater crowd presence.

With MLG the misses knew that I would be setting the alarm for 3am, and she wouldn't be able to get sense out of me until around mid-day. With NASL, she still had an hour with me, then nothing. Its not fair on her to get her hopes up.
Play the games!

I voted Dreamhack.

Why?

MLG Columbus was a nice event but was let down by several issues such as the way the streaming system was designed, while much better than the Octoshape crap they used last time around, overly frequent commercial breaks, some of the most annoying commercials ever (i.e. the "Get real" one) and the overly large amount of hype the event got which the event didn't actually meet.

It also left me questioning the planned league exchange program and whether it was actually a fair exchange, as both the GSL and MLG tournaments were pretty damn vastly different. I mean only winning MLG will actually get you an easily loseable Code S spot whereas placing 2nd - 4th will get you a Code A spot, also hard to obtain, easy to lose and quite frankly not worth the money even if GoMTV will cover living expenses and travel costs.

The North American Star League was great when it actually got to the Grand Finals, and even then I found the decision to have iNcontroL and Gretorp cast the final series to be questionable considering Tasteless, Artosis and Day[9] are fan favourite casters and probably the most experienced in that field. However, the duo actually pulled through and made the final 7 games a very enjoyable experience.

Also, my experience of watching the NASL has been spoiled somewhat both by the schedule which either involves me having to wait until 3am GMT to watch regular games or wait til the restream at 6pm GMT and either have the results spoiled to me via looking at the NASL site directly to watch the stream or otherwise. Also, I have questioned paying the $25 needed to watch the stream in anything that is 480p or above, or watch VODs, especially since many have complained that VODs simply aren't working.

However, I appreciate it when tournaments release their replays for future analysis, casting and viewing. Both Major League Gaming and Dreamhack have done this whereas the NASL and GSL have outright refused to do so.

Also, at least MLG and Dreamhack are making their VODs free with advertising, whereas to play, whereas with the GSL and NASL, you must have a premium season pass.

Hence, I am afraid to say that because of all of these factors, Dreamhack is obviously my choice with MLG as a close second.

Would have voted for HomeStory Cup. The most enjoyable SC2 event I've watched this far. The others were obviously very good.
I guess DreamHuk(lol) edges out the other two, due to fantastic games and casting, which is basically what I watch for.

MLG had Tastosis, whis is a HUGE plus for me, but a lot of the games were lackluster, imo, and extended series is such a weird fucking rule to use.

NASL was so weird and awkward most of the time, so I found it hard to get into the mood. The crazy long player intros, the super-awkward model girl interviewing people and so on greatly annoyed me. Also, the fact that Gretorp and Incontrol casted the finals with Tastosis (casted the bronze match) and Day[9], just doing nothing, was really disappointing. I'm not going to say that they didn't deserve it, as they casted the whole season and yadda-yadda, but NASL should have gone with the fan favorites, imo. Would have surely been more exciting to me.

To summarize (tl;dr):
1: HSC3
2: DH:S
3/4: MLG/NASL

IMO,
1. Columbus = Most excitement/Games/eSports Drama ^^
2.Dream Hack = Great overall.
3.NASL Finals = too much hiccups, but fantastic Finals. Might of been the best series I have ever seen.
4.HSC3 = Just not enough good games, PvP semi-finals and finals, Not that much koreans.

I won't be surprised if Europeans vote for the european tourneys and NA picks MLG.

From the stream viewer perspective:
DH hands down.
You just had to take a look the schedule. Look up what match you were interested in and press the right stream button. Perfect experience of online viewing.

From the live viewers perspective:
In this poll MLG columbus. The players ceremonies, running into crowds. and the crowds themselves.
Dont have to add anything to it.

And then we have NASL
Lets check the list:
- sound problems - check
- time managment errors - check
- depresing stage - check
- toi-toi player booths - check...

MLG Dallas might have lost its spot on the throne.

Btw. i voted for DH cause for a online viewer it was PERFECT.

I don't agree with the fact that this poll is inacurate because the hype around the finals of the NASL is still fresh.
On the contrary i think that the people will remember the quality of the final games (and the casting) and the memories of the problems will phase out.
Just like i remember MLG Dallas from the games of IdrA vs Huk more than the rage i felt when watching a black screen or those Dr Pepper commercials.

Of course you can say that idra's GG and the dancing zealots will echo through eternity but those are not the same kind of memories^^.

I voted for NASL simply because of the grand finals, which is a series that deserves to be remembered for a very long time. Best series of SC2 that i have ever seen, hands down(Game-quality and intensity ftw). Props to the audience for making it even more of a privilege to observe!

easy choice for me. MLG > DH > NASL

MLG had just way too good stories. IdrA ragequits anyone? They were just too good. The final was very well played and the crowd was amazing.

DH i don't remember that much, still it was better over all than NASL. NASL had the best final games, but other than that it sucked compared to the other two's.

I thought NASL was really good after day 1's problems. MLG is still the best for content, production, games, everything, but I'd put NASL ahead of DH (which I found boring and not memorable).

The actual games in the NASL Finals were pretty good but the breaks ruined it for me... and i think that the games at mlg where good as well but the event as such was so much more enjoyable than NASL. MLG > DH > NASL in my opinion.

Really tough decision. Quality of the games was awesome in all 3 tournaments I think, but MLG and NASL's games are the one that stuck in my mind the most. Although quality is much due to how good or bad players play, and the tournaments themselves don't have so much control over them...

So games aside, I think MLG Columbus gets my vote here. I'll still follow all 3 tournaments. If they didn't improve their production as they did in their last "appearance" however, MLG would have been at the bottom.

Voted for Dreamhack. Nothing can ever re-create the excitement of (P)HuK barely holding that 6 pool and the hope it gave me for foreigners.
Woah guys, this is where it gets tricky. Because right now we're behind in every conceivable aspect [...] The only thing we're not behind in is micro. Right? We got tons of that shit.

MLG the crew did their best and it showed in the production value, NASL had some of the best series of games to date. All three and an incredible community behind it, and that's all that matters.

Voted for MLG Columbus, Dreamhack was nearly as good.

NASL couldn't prevent their players from delivering good games, they had a stable stream and Lindsey. But sound issues and ~0,3matches/hour were painful. BO3 single elim was annoying as well.

It's also easy to forget that it was only their first go at a live event given how large the production was

NASL solely because of Lindsey (and Anna and Rachael) :D

Sexism aside, NASL had great games (Sen ftw) and a nice lineup of players and casters.
NASL production had some speed bumps, but it was nothing big, it was still enjoyable (though I may've felt differently, had I paid the $10, don't know).

Dreamhack felt a bit rushed and I had the impression players just turned up to get a shot at the prize money, not to play some good matches. MLG was great, but not fresh in memory, my impression is a less impressive lineup but good production.
Be cool, stay in school.

NASL potentially had the sickest matches in the end but I still think MLG and Dreamhack were much better as events.

Voted MLG.

Dreamhack: 99/100
MLG: 94/100
NASL: 80/100

NASL had great semi's and finals but that was about it, the first round was a massive yawn fest and the production was bleargh.

I picked Dreamhack over MLG because i felt that almost every series was epic and had awesome storylines, whereas MLG had a few yawners, not very many, but enough to make it 2nd.

This poll isnt really fair cuz NASL is fresh in peoples minds. I bet if you waited a month to make the poll NASL wouldnt get very many votes.

MLG columbus was sick. By far the best corporate piece of e-sports content ever live streamed over the internet. I watched all three fully, and NASL was obnoxious (i ended up laddering half of the time waiting for games to start). Dreamhack was good, there was alot of good games. But what I feel really should have been in the poll was the HomeStoryCup 3. That was just an amazing viewing experience. I caught every hour of alll four of these tournaments and I can say without a doubt HSC3 was the best. HuK vs stephano on shakuras, wow. Huk naniwa final game. wow. MLG takes a good second though.

Echoing some here, best games=NASL, but best event=MLG. Dreamhack was solid, but not as memorable as either of these. There's so much potential for growth in all of these, but right now, MLG shows how it's done.

I didn't watch the final series and I think NASL was HORRIBLE. It must've been a sick series if so many think it made NASL the best event this year.

NASL finals, especially the last round, was purely astonishing. But I have to go with MLG, for a whole weekend of solid production value and some damn good games.

Wasn't able to watch any of Dreamhack unfortunately, so I can't comment on that. Hear it was great though.

NASL and DH tie on 2nd, both had good games and really cool moments but also some flaws.

I think a lot of people are getting confused, the poll isn't actually "which was the latest event you saw." I mean you'd have to be pretty damn silly to think NASL was the best event this year so far, I mean sure MC vs Puma was the best series so far but the event as whole was rather bad while MLG Columbus was pretty much perfect. Dreamhack is a close second but the quality of the production was better at MLG I feel. NASL doesn't even come on 3rd place as Homestory 3 takes that spot.

It is a little bit disingenuous to compare just the finals of one event to the entirety of two other events. The poll would probably look much more lopsided if it was simply NASL vs MLG vs Dreamhack.

weird to see so many people voting for NASL.

imho they just got lucky, that they had awesome games in the final, which can't be attributed to the organizers, but apart from that, the production was incredibad, seriously:
- Massive delay at start
- 1 hour+ breaks between each BO3?
- awkward interviews
- sound problems all weekend,
- switching on Day9's mic like 20 times when he wasn't on stage
- 10 Minute intros for each player in almost every round
- Single elimination (Hey Ret, how about you fly over to the US and play 2 games ?)

In comparison, DH and MLG Columbus were such awesome events. Can't wait for the next ones.

Not saying NASL was really bad, but I honestly believe that it was not on par with the other 2. I think most of the votes for NASL are present just because of the hype that hasn't dried off yet.

From a spectators point of view, i liked MLG the most. Constant influx of great games with good casting and very nice presentation. Dreamhack was also great and just a bit behind MLG. The games at NASL were really fun to watch and the casters were awesome, but there was too much waiting involved and there were a lot of issues with the presentation.

Overall it's all REALLY close. I loved all three events and i think it's awesome that we get this kind of entertainment

edit: oh, and the homestorycup really was the coolest event of all. Really loved the whole chilled atmosphere and the pros casting

I enjoyed the overall product of MLG columbus the most. Something of the MC/Idra day 1 drama into the epic 4-0 on Sunday made it the most compelling to watch. NASL had a great finish but I cant discount the continued issues experienced with the production.

NASL was a bad production all together. They were the only one of those three that didn't stream in HD for free. On top of that their stream were laggy and choppy all the time.

Dreamhack and MLG were pretty equal to me, both really awesome, but I'm swedish so I'll have to say Dreamhack

All three took place over one weekend. If you include NASL's regular season, then it becomes a very weird comparison. NASL's 16 person single elimination bracket certainly has a lot less games than MLG and DH formats, but that was NASL's choice.

How could anyone actually pick NASL?

Did you not watch the stream??

Frankly NASL was the worst out of these by far. MLG and DreamHack were both close, but DreamHack was just a better event.
Got that.

A lot of people will put NASL because it was the most recent. MLG deserves to be #1, it was definitely the best show by far.

Dreamhack was great in production value, but I never got that into the matches

NASL was pretty terrible with the one-hour break in betweem series and inconsistent schedule. Good thing they were save by the great final between MC and PUma, which prompted me to vote for NASL. =(

MLG Columbus, without a doubt the best SC2 I've ever had the absolute pleasure to watch.

NASL got lucky because they got an awsome finals... The event was mediocre at best.
MLG colombus or dreamhack were better events overall.

I won't "forgive" NASL for all the problems they have during the season... the production for the finals was not good enough either, also i think they laugh at me when they select incontrol and gretorp to cast the finals instead of tastosis....

I voted for MLG

I will admit, only caught a few games from NASL and even fewer from MLG, but dreamhack was fantastic, the Sen V Cloud match was great, especially the 1st (i think) game, when it looked like cloud just needed to clean up to win, but Sen managed to get the mutalisks out, amazing!

NASL production was just to low compared to the others to get my vote, despite some awesome games

NASL getting that many votes has to be the hype... It was not nearly as good as either DH or MLG in any way if u ask me. I cant decide who to vote for of the other 2 though, they where both so awsome in their own way so I guess my tiny patriotic side forces me to vote swe .

A merge between MLG and DH would be like the most awsome thing ever possible, probably would be to much for me to handle.

How are people saying that NASL was the best event they have seen? The games were amazing, but the event it's self was not. I had to vote for MLG.

Gotta say DH. It was free and the games were just as good as MLG (Without BING COMMERCIALS). NASL finals would have been great if there was more tastosis, less sporrer and no extreme delays (i.e. scheduling) between games and sound issues.

MLG was awesome with production and games. Crowd was a huge plus. NASL had rediculous problems with production and the interviews were terrible hahahah. Dreamhack and MLG are a tie but i went to MLG so i voted for iT!

I didn't see the finals of TSL3 as an option to vote for.
NASL had the best semis/finals by far, but the quality of the tournament throughout was rather spotty. MLG definitely wins this, however none even compare to TSL3.

I think Dreamhack was the best tournament for an online viewer.
It had tons of "stars" there, casted live, on tons of streams. And most important of all - they didnt had problems with sound like NASL had, and they were streaming higher quality for free.
