Liquibet - Blizzcon Edition
Blizzcon - a two day overdose on all things Blizzard. A chance to watch professional Starcraft without going to Korea. A chance to play unreleased titles such as Starcraft II or Diablo 3.
Can't get much better, right?
Unfortunately, tickets are hard to get, usually selling out in mere seconds. For most people it will be another year of watching from the sidelines.. but never fear, Blizzcon Liquibet is here!
On Wednesday May 27th we will kick off this special season of Liquibet, lasting just over 2 weeks. At the end of the season, the 3 highest ranked liquibettors will each recieve a ticket to Blizzcon!
What is Liquibet?
Liquibet is a simple system of picking the winners of professional starcraft games. The value of games vary, for instance picking the winner of a final is worth significantly more than the winner of a group stage game.
How do I participate?
Simply head overe to the Liquibet section (while logged in) and make your picks.
In order to be eligible for a ticket your account must be created before May 1st. If you are a known cheater, do not bother trying as you will be banned.
There are no national restrictions imposed by us, but please note that this contest is only for a Blizzcon ticket - you will have to pay for your own accomodation as well as transportation to the event.
When?
The contest will last between May 27th and June 12th. Blizzcon takes place between August 21st and August 22nd, at the Annaheim Convention Center, California.
Prizes:
The 3 highest Liquibettors at the end of June 12th will each recieve a ticket to Blizzcon. Should they be unable to go, we will move down the list.
Note:
Due to various deadlines, once the 3 winners have been selected, there will only be a 48 hour period where you can confirm your participation and submit your information, before the ticket passes on to the next person in line.
Winners will be notified by private message here on Teamliquid.net as well as by email.
Update: To make things easier for us, if you finish in the top 25 and you are able to attend Blizzcon, please PM us once the season ends.

Please pay special attention to the following paragraphs:
After I purchase my BlizzCon ticket(s), how will I receive them?Attendee badges will be distributed on site at the Anaheim Convention Center during BlizzCon. Approximately one month before the show, the ticket purchaser will receive up to five separate e-mails (one for each ticket purchased) each containing a unique attendee barcode that will be required to gain entry to the show. You will also be able to access these bar-code emails through your Battle.net account. Before arriving at the show, each attendee must print the e-mail containing his or her barcode and bring it to BlizzCon, along with valid photo ID. In order to receive a badge, the name on the bar-code e-mail *must* match the name on your photo ID. You can edit attendee names for all of the tickets you purchased until 5 p.m. Pacific Time on June 13 by logging in to Battle.net Account Management and going to Order History.

Cutting this season a bit short - but as I'm sure you will agree, with good reason - I present to you the standings of Liquibet, Season 16.
Worthy of note is that not a single staff member made it into any of the top 10s, and - unless my eyes decieve me - the highest staff member is EvilTeletubby at 84pts, ranked 202nd.
Truly a pathetic display by my fellow staff, they should be ashamed of themselves 
Myself, I forgot to vote for most of the season so clearly I can not be lumped together with the rest!
As usual, an extremely close top 10, but with 95 points out of 133 possible (71.42%), our winner is.. leomon!
Congratulations, if Mensrea was still posting I'm sure he'd award you his famous no-prize., or then again he might not,

I got Kennigit to clean up my mess tho. Then he made some mess of his own but it was almost invisible

This is crazy exciting. I'd love to get a chance at Blizzcon! I'll be sure to actually look at the players I'm voting on during this contest instead of just voting on the name I like/recognize the most.
And I made the top ten in proleague voting, which is impressive, since I was insta-voting on Khan every time. I must've got most of the others right  .

Wow, cool - I was in the top GOMTV ranking (tied at 10 pts). And until I left for my grandparents' house for 5 days (no interbutts), I had been in the top 30 overall pretty consistently - most of the time between 10 and 20.

They post the link that the tickets will be on sale before they actually go on sale (and the tickets should also take up the entirety of the Blizzard store during the time they're still available), so I'd highly recommend finding the sale page, and starting to refresh 5-10 minutes before they actually go on sale. The listed time for the first batch of tickets was 10am, but they really went on sale at 9:56ish, and from what I heard, very few people who refreshed right at 10, got tickets.

How nice: even with a horde of deserving reds/blues (staff members) without tickets, TL is giving one away!
I'm sure this promotion will drive a lot of (much-needed) traffic to TL!
