The culmination of yet another successful event by the TL.net staff and WGT has finally been completed. The final tournament had the best players outside of Korea (give or take a few) competing for the big lump sum of money. Though the tournament ended much differently than few could have possibly imagined.
Upset city. When Elky gets smacked around by a Canadian and anon you know something’s is very VERY wrong. Whether Elky just wasn't on his A game or was on drugs is a mystery only I know the answer to. Giyom got billabonked by everyone's favorite Aussie, Leg and the new school yet highly talented sYs(Dune) (Doombringer). Also, when you've got a handful of annoying Russians in a tournament, odds are one of them will get lucky and somehow manage to do well. Whelp this time it was Sleeping.RUS's lucky day. After getting hammered to sleep round one by Willet, he went on a blazing 4-0 (got a free win vs the absent Pride) streak in the losers bracket by beating Veg, Daaman, Androide(yeah he played for Oddy and was caught too late) and yours truly (Lag, Pausing, Hack, BM, Cheat, Disc, Glitch abuse, etc). Though how that happened, I don't know because he was definitely below the skill level of every single person he managed to beat.
After all the whining about the maps Nazgul and others chose from uneducated/ignorant gamers such as LoB.anon.hcn, how the maps are so heavily favoring P and they are "Nazgul's Favorites," Naz (the TL#3 Champion) lost to Doombringer and Lammerman early on and didn't manage to get top 8.
The winners bracket was dominated by everyone's “favorite” player, Smuft. NO IT WASN'T FENNEC-THE-FOX IN THE LADDER SEASON PLAYING ZERG, IT WAS SMUFT, OKAY RETARDS? I'm sure after getting scammed to shit by Smuft in WDT everyone loves seeing him winning a lot of money from something they all paid for. A bit ironic that he can take everyone’s money legitimately and illegitimately. He crushed Mondragon in the winners bracket finals even after
being at a 1 game disadvantage in a best-of-5 for his not so uncommon inability to show up on time (WDT final tourney, anyone?). Lego beat Willet in the loser’s bracket guaranteeing him 3rd place at least and placing Willet at in the honorable 4th place slot. Lego played Mondragon in the losers bracket finals like a complete idiot and gets stuck with 3rd place.
Smuft vs. Mondragon in the finals:
1-0 Auto lead for Smuft
2-0 Smuft wins on Vertigo
3-0 Smuft wins on Plains to Hill
3-1 Mondragon wins on Nostalgia
3-2 Mondragon wins on Charity
3-3 Mondragon wins on Neo Vertigo
4-3 Smuft wins on Neo Vertigo
From what I heard Mondragon played like crap in the winners bracket series vs. Smuft and also played like crap vs. Smuft in most of their games in the finals. Maybe Smuft just knew how to handle the pressure better? Or maybe Smuft is just far better than Mondy? You decide.
1st: Smuft - $750
2nd: ToT)Mondragon( -$400
3rd: Legionnaire - $250
4th: ToT)WiLLEt( - $150
5th/6th: Sleeping.RUS vs Doombringer (Winner gets 100$ Loser gets 50$)
7th: Rekrul[pG] - 50$
8th: ToT)aCe( - 50$
Ret and I didn’t play but I’m much better than him in Ping Pong so I get 7th.
Lessons learned for the next TLT:
1. Modify BWSentinel to automatically scan all IP's and tell where the people playing are from so admins don't have to scan through tons of IP's manually.
2. Don't let Russians play in the final tournament. They lag and are annoying and you can't tell who's who because they all play from PC Cafe's. The only thing they are good for is easy points in the ladder season.
3. Don't hold it at 3 PM Euro time because I don't like waking up at 8 AM.
4. Have a shorter Ladder season to promote activity.
5. Make the losers bracket best-of-3 for all rounds except for maybe the first round. It sucks losing to Russians and not being able to use your anger from your one loss to win the next two with ease, eh Naz? T_T
Congrats to Smuft for his amazing ability to fool people during the ladder season just by playing Zerg at a level no one thought he could and by owning the piss out of everyone in the tourney with Protoss.

I think the biggest reason russians seem to you to be bad-mannered online is that most russians stop considering games appropriate for their age early so their majority is young. Europeans and North-Americans more often play games seriously through College/University/that age and obviously being more mature act more mature online.
I don't remember his name but just look at the kid who won Quake 3 on WCG 2002 and other russian Quake 3 players present there(they were like 13-15 years old), androide(was 15 or 16 then), and probably others. But you are condemning a nation, even you're joking, it's said in quite a serious manner; and those who are laughing at it are probably only your friends, those who always say ROFLMAO to everything, and those who laugh at everything somebody popular in certain circles says.

abut laggin...i don't think we was. was watching games in that inet cafe they all played. nothing lagged (it's very good connection there) and every1 played 4 themselves. exept androide, but he wasn't there. he played from home i think.
and...diacon (sleeping) was really worse than ppl he beat. but u should ban him b4 final tourney. as i said to admins. no report/sharing account, etc. that's admins error that he played in finals and annoyed Rek.

Allright, Rekrul has lost, he was disappointed, t'was really hard for him to be eliminated by a player far less skilled then Rek is. So he wrote a shitty news, pretending it to be a joke when he came out of depression. Forget this incident (but keep yer ax sharp, meik it reedy ta split he guts open!) and let your life go on. Everybody can have hard times, right?
As for Rekrul, it is still a pity that he didn't remove that shitty "joke" from the main news' page. But I don't mind, he can live on or he can rot in hell, why should I care? ^^
