As translated by our good friend LosingID8 and announced by our lovable Snorlax, Waxangel, Gretech (the makers of GOM Player and GOMTV) have decided to use the popularity of GOMTV to launch it's own progaming channel.
First of all though, they are going to host a tournament, with sixteen being invited to compete in this Invitational.
With already a studio built, all that GOM needs are players, maps, commentators, and prizes.
Players
The players have not been officially announced yet, but it is speculated that the invitees will be;
 sAviOr (Shinhan Bank OSL S3 Winner)
 NaDa (Shinhan Bank Masters Winner)
 Bisu (GOMTV MSL S1 and 2 Winner)
- GGPlay (Daum OSL Winner)
- Mind (GOMTV MSL S3 Winner)
- Jaedong (EVER 2007 Starleague Winner)
- Stork (Shinhan Proleague 2007 Round 1 MVP)
- Sheis (Shinhan Proleague 2007 Round 1 Top Rookie)
- free (Shinhan Proleague 2007 Round 1 Most Wins)
- Anytime (Shinhan Proleague 2007 Round 2 MVP, Most Wins)
- Hwasin (Top KeSPA Ranked Player)
- Sea (Top KeSPA Ranked Player)
- Flash (Top KeSPA Ranked Player)
- Iris (Top KeSPA Ranked Player)
- Light (Top KeSPA Ranked Player)
- Much (Top KeSPA Ranked Player)
- There is also speculation though that 815 may be invited instead of one of the top KeSPA-ranked players due to his Rookie performance this season.
Maps
It is most likely the map pool will consist of four maps, two new maps from the upcoming Proleague season and one from both the OSL and MSL. It is unknown when the maps will be announced.
Format
The format has also been undecided yet, but it has been narrowed down to;
- Sixteen divided into four groups
- Race Tournament (Like the Race Wars Superfight)
- Proleague Style
Commentators
No official wording whatsoever on who is going to commentate the invitational, but it will most likely be the same commentators who did the Superfights.
Prizes
LG subsidiary XNote (known for their high-tech notebooks) will be the main sponsor of the tournament. Intel (specifically Intel Centrino's) will tag along with XNote and be a small sponsor. It is unknown how much the prize money is.
February will be a crazy month. Lets look forward to this.

I wonder how this new channel will turn out, are they going to arrange the occasional tournament like CJ did or start another starleague?

interesting how few zergs there will be, if this list is correct. All those TvT mirror matches are gonna be hella boring!

Do you mean a new progaming channel akin to OGN or MBCGame, or just a channel within the GomTV broadcast medium? I'm confused.
Out of the player list, the only two that aren't top 16 KeSPA are NaDa (17) and Sheis (out of top 30), edging out KesPA 15 and 16 in FBH and UpMagic. Whatever, Terrans are Terrans.

Sounds like an awesome tourney, specially with a known company such as Intel acting as sponsor (a small one but still). This will surely gain some one's attention elsewhere in the world.

ok if there are 4 groups of 16's, are they played like regular tournament as in MSL? or will it be everyone plays everybody like in OSL topped off with tiebreakers? or will it be first to get two wins? im asking a reasonable question here right?
i am unfamiliar with race wars, anyone care to exlain the format? the race balance is obviously skewed...
