Even if he beats heart, he still has to face Squirtle, which imo, I think he will lose because let's face it. Squirtle has pretty damn good PvP even if it's a coinflip. He'll most likely end up facing Sniper like the predictions so let's hope Naniwa has been refining his PvZ in these past couple weeks of downtime.

Btw, somehow I think Taeja will pick Naniwa in ro16 this season. He usually picks a protoss because its his best MU and looking at the other protosses who made it through already, Naniwa is the most likely candidate if he makes it past ro32.

Nvm, I just looked at the Gomtv s4 points chart, it looks like Naniwa and Taeja are both in the same rank so maybe Naniwa will pick Hero instead? ;D

I think it will be Squirtle and Naniwa - except I think Naniwa will beat squirtle with 1 game being won on a cannon rush OR a proxy inside squirtles base. Then squirtle will win the last match to advance with Naniwa.

This is turning out to be a GREAT GSL season. Those MMA vs MVP games yesterday were so freakin sick - I was reminded of how I fell in love with GSL.... MVP vs MMA - epic!!!!!

I think Heart will advance in 2nd today. I was probably the first person ever to hype Heart back in October of last year so I have to stick with him here.

Sniper is scary though, he hasn't shown his best play in Code S and if he manages to bring his A game then he could cruise through this group.

Naniwa is the only one I can't see advancing.

I actually think that Naniwa has a fair chance to advance, he's quite good at PvT and despite Squirtle's phenomenal PvP, an upset in the match up isn't completely unheard of. Against Sniper, though being very good, and with Naniwa's weak PvZ, I feel like Naniwa will have prepared well, and could take that win. Realistically I think Naniwa over Heart, then loss to Squirtle and advances over Heart, all other matches implied.

Because I agree completely with your predictions, I really disagree and see a big contradiction in:

He was matched up against Mvp, Ryung, and Puzzle in Season Two, while he faced Nestea, Creator, and TheStC in Season Three. In comparison, his current group of Heart, Sniper, and Squirtle is probably the weakest of them all.

Sniper & Squirtle is two players who are better than Naniwa in the matchup, and Heart is as volatile as it gets in TvP, and although there's seldom easy opponents in GSL, following this year and player's status going into a new GSL season, this is the toughest group for NaNiwa.

Should be a great group! Kinda regret not staying up last night, but I had class. Can't wait for this. Nani and Squirtle are strong picks, but I actually like how Heart plays so there will be good games all around.
