Also not such a long time ago there was next no no good Korean protoss, so practice wasn't as as easy, probably. Finally it is very unexplored after all that 4 gate domination, and very cheesy by nature (2 gate proxy, photon rush) I believe you made an error about puma vs Stephano, waxangel : antiga shipyard was map 1. Game 2 was on metropolis.

It;s not long ago people were saying Huk's good runs in tournaments was down to his prowess at PvP, now someone goes out at a group stage it's because of PvP and suggesting it's random.

You cannot deny the randomness and coin flippy nature that is PvP. Every good Protoss player will tell you that there are so many lucky build order wins and random blind counters that happen due to rigid nature of toss builds vs other toss builds. Because Protoss has so many viable options, 2gate, cannons,4gate,3stalker rush, immortal timings, warp prism play, collosus timings,blink,phoenix.... etc., it makes it very easy for a player to deny scouting and open up robo when his opponent goes phoenix and basically auto lose. While obviously there are better PvP players than others and it certainly isnt 100% luck based, out of all the matchups in the game PvP is THE most random.
