Invite DJ Wilma!
Edit: Honestly though - i don't fully get this.. It'd be one thing if there were games to watch together but this seems more like an industry event with mingling and free food... Kinda loses the spirit of Barcraft.

Considering the GSL finals and the Blizzcon Invitational will be happening the days preceding it is not very feasible to run an in house match.
Also in my personal opinion the "Spirit of Barcraft" is drawing people together around esports.

Agreed. There were numerous times when I was watching games in the dorms with a few friends and I would think "wouldn't it be awesome if thousands of people could get together and watch this game in the US?" When I would attend a BW LAN at my school, it amazed me how many people could be brought together by the game. I was blown away by how much attention SC2 brought to the scene shortly afterward.
So its even mind blowing to me that this "barcraft" phenomenon is one huge step to having StarCraft and competitive gaming being acknowledged by western audiences. It extends to something beyond an online fad.

Where is this event? I want to know if it is possible for me to attend. Has the location been decided yet.

I was quite excited for this event, until I realized we weren't going to be enjoying any games.

That's the best name I've heard for it! LOL!! Ultimate Barcraft is pretty..... accurate, but this is the winner to me.
Well played, good sir

I really hope this works out.
I can't see how you will get around 15k people though? That's half of the expected BlizzCon attendees.
|
The hell. When i tought 500 people at a barcraft was a lot. But this...is huge. But kinda normal since there are so many celebrities involved. Too bad i cant go
|
There better be some Kpop in that place. ley go
|
WHATTTTTTT. I'm excited for the people of Anaheim and anyone who gets to go to this. Very cool Blizzard.
|
Shit yeah, I'm going to this. Gonna be a frickin' awesome party by the sounds of it.

If you really are expecting a 10-15k turnout for this - seeing as donations are failing why not just charge a $2 admission pp. Small fee and if you get the numbers then you would cover your costs.

No. We could just as easily charge the stream to watch. It is free to attend and free to watch.
