TeamLiquidPro: Home Sweet Home
TeamLiquid.net currently occupies a unique position in the StarCraft 2 competitive scene. We aspire to cover SC2 ESPORTS like a news site, but we're also home to a huge community and to a professional team. Our visitors come to TL for the forums, to follow Liquid players, for the stream list, TLPD, or other news features.
It was clear from the beginning that for Liquid to fully reach its potential as a pro-team it would eventually need a dedicated website, with room to post detailed news and updates more frequently, and to better represent our sponsors such as TLAF and Razer. Many fans already consider TeamLiquid.net to be the definitive source for news about the pro team, but in truth we've had to limit our offerings in order to accommodate the rest of the site's needs.
Now, with the creation of TeamLiquidPro.com, we can go all-out on our coverage of the Liquid Team and better serve its fans. Likewise, this allows TeamLiquid.net to better focus its efforts on being a central hub for the entire community and fans of all teams, not just Liquid.
Don't worry, TeamLiquidPRO isn't going to replace TeamLiquid.net's Liquid coverage, but rather enhance it. Liquid Weekly will still be here every week, and the Liquid players will still interact with Starcraft II fans on TLnet's forums (as if we could stop them!). Instead, TeamLiquidPRO will enhance coverage of the Liquid team. TLPro will have special Liquid-focused features, alongside news on interesting happenings surrounding the team that might not necessarily make TL.net's front page. TLPro shares the same user database as teamliquid.net, so your current user account will work over on TLPro as well.
From the hardcore follower who needs to know what TLO had for breakfast, to those who have a casual interest based off watching a few impressive games, we think that TeamLiquidPro will enhance the experience of being a fan.

And not just high profile games from TSL, MLG, etc; we really scoured the web for all those minor tournament games as well. Heck, you can watch Tyler play against David Kim in a beta ladder match if you want (hint: the Blizzard employee wins). Liquid News and Feature ArticlesThe creation of TLPro allows us to really concentrate on our coverage of the Liquid Team. It's what we've always been doing with Liquid Weekly, but now on the scale of an entire website. Alongside our comprehensive tournament coverage and interviews that you're used to, we're also introducing some special features. For instance, we're opening with the first in a series of journals by Jinro, who looks back on a youth spent dreaming of becoming a pro-gamer in Korea, and the process it took to make it a reality. Very glad to see this. I think it's good to keep the team and TL.net separated. TL.net is way beyond a starcraft team. This means that the team sometimes gets buried in all the other news and features of the website. The new site will give them their very own place to shine.
Also, sometimes it's hard for people to see the difference between TL.net and the team so they get confused about whether a comment, article, decision, etc. is coming from the team or the website and they may question whether there's a conflict of interest. Hopefully this is a step towards helping remove some of that confusion.

Looks really good. My only suggestion would be on the calender page. Make the dates ascending instead of descending, Rather than scrolling way down the page It seems the current day and maybe the next 3 going forward should be at the top.

Im glad TL is doing this, so now TL.net is for the SC community and TL pro is just for Team liquid.

I logged onto TL.net and noticed that subtle top bar that wasn't there before.
After I said out loud "what's this?!?" several times, I went through the links and was pleasantly surprised with the link to TeamLiquidPro.

Playing as Running Back, Chris developed a liking for hard hitting aggressive play early on, and this would end up being reflected in his competitive gaming as well. Receiving multiple awards throughout his career, his American Football run was a worthy precursor to his SC2 performance.

Okay minor complaint, the icon in the tab is unrecognizable. Put the dark blue background behind it. Also, what's the point of logging in?
But literally, after 10 minutes, these are the only complaints I can find. The layout is amazing, there are so many amazing features. This website is incredible. Awesome job!

im so sorry, but i have kind of OCD when it comes to technology related things, and efficiency, etc...
when you click on TeamLiquidPro, then back to TeamLiquid... you'll notice the position of the buttons shifts, which makes it slightly annoying to readjust.... lol
don't know how to fix, as i don't know much HTML, but maybe shift the TL.net buttons over slightly to the right to match the TLPro ones

I think teamliquid as a brand rather than a team. They don't live and train together except in korea.

Just so everyone knows, that's 686 videos up there (currently.)
The way they're tagged together depended on how the VOD was done. So pretty much all the separate games in BoX series should be next to each other, but occasionally they're in one VOD because the Youtube video was that way.
EDIT: Also, this is my first time seeing the profiles and these profile pages are absolutely stellar. Every other professional player page I've ever seen, including tons of CS teams, was just a Facebook-style list of stuff. These are actual bios, with soo much information on the page. :D

small correction but tl.net was a news/community site from day 1. not a team site, even 8 years ago.

Well, if i understood all this right, i don't like "splitting" the website. I liked that _all_ the coverage will be in one site (TL.net), including TL team news.
But i guess i'll visit the pro site weekly. But on a positive side, the site looks nice.

So far I've spent about as much time as on any team website. It's a really slick looking cover, which is probably the primary function. There is a lot of functionality certainly, but you know what I mean.

With the recent upswell of esports news and the main pages being crowded with "outside" stuff,
this was long overdue. :-)

The site's pretty cool, love the player bios. I'll definitely be checking it out regularly.

I think the argument between EG and Tyler proved how much this site was needed. Its a going to be great to be able to follow team liquid in a site dedicated to them alone.

I think the Razer logo is broken on the sponsor page.
Under Team Sponsors I can only see a thin green line where the logo should be, but I can click the entire surface where it should be and go to the Razer website.

I like the look of the website, but it's not 1024x768 friendly I can't browse it without a horizontal scrollbar because of the sponsors to the right.
Hope it's going to be fixed, still a great job though

when i saw the title i thought it was going to be the pro-only forum that was talked about a while back. which i would support, but now i see its just another sc2 site i wont go to again. im not trying to trash this, the site looks and functions well, but its something i can only feel meh about. also, i dont see why this cant just go on teamliquid, someone want to enlighten me?

hm this site is completly pointless, nearly everything what is written on that "pro site" is also available on the mainsite. Instead of creating something new u should try to rebuild tl.net for easier navigating and finding stuff...

I think we this new website and Sponsor they should consider picking up some new players, would be nice to see them compete more viably in team leagues such as EGs, as atm its kinda hard with players all over the place.

"TeamLiquidPro" indeed. This is an incredibly professional website with a lot of functionality. I loved reading through the player bios, but the VOD page was a little scary. I don't know how much of my life I'm going to lose watching all those games. Congratulations, TL. You guys have outdone yourselves again.

Very intelligent decision so that there is more community awareness that the team and the site while connected are not identical entities.
Props to the webmasters also, its a slick site, "Pro" indeed!

I was wondering when you guys were going to update your site. It looks like its programmed through Drupal, maybe... joomla? Kind of curious. It looks way to good to be done with just HTML coding, but with r1ch apart of team liquid nothing would surprise me.
Im going to guess... Joomla with a bridge to the forum.
Either way curiosity aside website looks terrific.

I personally wish it felt more like the teamliquid.net site. It looks like someone tried to mimic it, but didn't get it quite right.
A small example, the top navigation bar just isn't the same as the one here, and personally I like the way it works here more than there.
Just my suggestion - make it feel more like this site. This site has a -great- feel to it, that one feels like the same CMS every other site uses.
Otherwise, I think the move to have a Pro site for the team separate from a community site is a great idea. I wish you guys nothing but luck in your continuing efforts to be more awesome.
EDIT: Additionally, after playing around some more - I love the cross-news and cross-comments thing. Just, the way that it is basically an extension of TeamLiquid.net is very very awesome.

On the VOD page there are all kind of options to filter the VODs but no option "date added", or "newest". It would be cool if you could change that. Thx.

Im 99% sure that they are still working on the website. You can see that you can post and your TL # of TL posts are still linked but there is just a regular picture of a blank head. Give it time, they will fix it. Probably just working on the core features of the website and then going to go into the details after everything is running smoothly... sadly the details is the hardest and most annoying part of a website so gl to whoever has to do that lol.
