Total Prizemoney: ~43,880 USD (+ Prizes!)
Top Dog There's a ton of powerhouses outside of Korea, but who's this edition's top dog? Let's take a look at which players have posted the most impressive results over the past 2 weeks.
Note: This isn't a prize-money or medals ranking, but instead based upon overall player performance.
+ Show Spoiler [Honorable Mentions] + iNSoLeNCE !! Perhaps one of the most overlooked Protoss players around, iNSoLeNCE has shown excellent activity, and posted excellent results, in the past month or two. Additionally, he has taken down 1 gold and 3 silvers in the past two weeks. Mark my words, this player is one to keep your eye on. Total Prizewinnings: ~$2,050 USD DieStar !! This lesser known player proved himself in these past couple weeks by taking a Close Combat Cup, as well as earning the runner-up slot in 3 additional tournaments against very strong opponents. Total Prizewinnings: ~$100 USD mOOnGLaDe !! Despite his international inactivity due to his current stint in Korea, mOOnGLaDe managed to represent himself well by nearly defeating the Korean players at IEM, taking down 4th place, and the honor of best-performing non-Korean at the event. Total Prizewinnings: ~$2,500 USD
Third + Show Spoiler [Third] + LaLuSh !! This player took down two HUGE golds in these past two weeks. First winning the massive Hazard LAN 1st place prize, he followed up with a solid Close Combat Final Tournament victory over impressive opponents in fellow contenders iNSoLeNCE and GoOdy. Total Prizewinnings: ~$2,950
Runner-Up + Show Spoiler [Runner-Up] + Kas !! He's everywhere. Since his TSL3 qualification, his name has become more and more common around the international scene, and for good reason. This past two weeks he managed to become the GO4SC2 February champion, snag 2nd at CraftCup #33, 1st at CraftCup #34, 2nd at Gamecreds Cup #5, and 3rd at the sc2tv.ru/FXOpen Invite Tourny. With such activity and results, Kas is certainly gearing up for an insanely epic clash with HayprO in TSL3's opening round. Total Prizewinnings: ~$900
Top Dog + Show Spoiler [The Top Dog] + GoOdy !! The epitome of an active player. Every week his name is constantly strewn about as he participates in tons of cups and tournaments. While he isn't often regarded as the best of the best, he certainly turned a few heads with his recent performances. This past two weeks, he has taken down an amazing 5 medals, 3 of which are shining gold. CraftCup February Champion, Gamecreds Cup #5 winner, GO4SC2 Cup #88 winner, sc2tv.ru/FXOpen Invite Tourny Runner-up, and 3rd place winner at the Close Combat Final Tournament are all titles this man has earned in just 2 weeks time. Through this myriad of awesome finishes, beating out players like Kas and DIMAGA, GoOdy has earned the honor of being deemed this edition's top dog! Watch out NesTea, you might just drop a game in the opening round of TSL3. Total Prizewinnings: ~$970
Medal Podium
Note: only players with multiple podium appearances are included.
Next Edition: Early-April 2011!

So much money just for E-Sports.
Yay for spreading influences.

Goody Fighting! He is a nice guy and has got a lot of improvements he can do in his game. This is just the beginning of the "Panzer General"
|
I'm a big fan of Goody's style and it's good that he's doing so well in tournaments! Keep up the good work!
|
This is an awesome write up... Europe is really making moves with a constant stream of high quality big prize tournies.... Lalush seems to be beasting right now
|
Thanks a ton for these recaps! I'm glad to see Lalush is doing good.

Did they conclude in the time period? Will probably be in the next one.
Nice round up

Wow this must've taken a ton of work. Much appreciated!
|
Hope goody makes the NASL so we can see even more of his prolific play
|
Never paid much to these write-ups and it looks like I've been missing out. Will definitely not make that mistake anymore, this is too amazing to skip.
Great work! Thanks!
|
The king sitting at 1st place - exactly where he belongs
awesome write up. Its always nice to read those and catch up with all the tourneys i could not watch
|
Awesome!! The community is so active!
Makes me proud ^^

The amount of money being pumped into this game just astounds me. People used to sign up by the dozens for $100 in BW, but now there's so much money it's hard to even keep up... Amazing ~_~!;;

Lalush won maxlan this weekend. I was there how he kicked ass.. +2000euro for him this month

I love that picture of Jinro holding the huge check, something about the face he's making makes it so memorable.
|

Man Lalush + Goody are dominating!
|

I can't even fathom how you kept track of all this stuff. Wow.
|
Bravo, Bravo!
This is an amazing idea. I hope you can keep it up!
|
Amsing job by the TL staff, keeping track on all of these !

It's not that hard. Everything is on the TL Calendar and if you follow the cups regularly it's easy to remember what day they are all on.
|
Wow, i've missed so many tournaments. Looks like I have some VODS to catch up on.
Goody definitely caught me by surprise. Never heard of him and he seems to be dominating a bunch of these tournaments.
|
"Panzer general" is right, Goody the solo mech terran. I loved that game and His play style

I'm with you. I've been suggesting to various organizations to keep more specific records and report results more thoroughly (date, winners, prizepool), so hopefully I'll be able to include even more in future editions.
If someone feels that a tournament or cup should have been covered, but it hasn't been, that's likely the culprit. Other reasons include lack of significant prize pool, which varies depending on tournament type.
|

It's not too bad. It's a combination of the tournaments thread, TLPD, Liquipedia, and the sites that host the events.
That being said, yes it's a beast.

If I'm not mistaken BratOK won an ESL Sennheiser Cup (100 Euro) last week as well. Well two weeks, on a Saturday.
|
People keep saying zerg is underpowered but they have the best tourny results yet again. Seems like the amount of tournaments is steadily increasing. I hope it gets to the point where i can just go to TL whenever and have some high level play to watch.

Sennheiser Cup will be covered in future editions. There were some results reporting issues that have since been resolved.
Thanks much.

Looks like a relatively new segment, I missed the first one.
I hope these Tournament Roundups continue, great to read about everything that's happening around the world.
|
Lalush looks like such a hunk *Swoon*
... Wait a second.
|
Good post to find tournaments to play/watch. Lots of EU tournaments.
|
|
Where might one spend these TOURNAMENT ROUNDUP dollars? Thanks for the compilation, its cool to see things side by side

We had a prize winnings leaderboard before Christmas. Is there an updated version somwhere?
|
Panzergeneral! Looked into some of his games lately and it seems he upped his mechanics. :D
Btw. TLO/Jinro getting a bronze medal for placing third in a tournament with just 4 people...? <.<
|
Nice, it's really hard to keep track of everything since there's so much going on. This gives a good overview.
|
|
there is more and more zerg at the top. a good sign i guess.

Medals in showmatches and similar things like that aren't counted toward the final medal count, they're just there to show the participants for informational/organizational purposes.
|
Awesome post. I would've liked to have seen Jinro winning more. He's still my inspiration for Terran. And I'm still routing for him. Though if he ever sees this a word of advice: Try growing a Santa Clause beard, it's an incredible source of talent.
|
Yay GoOdy! Always in the monthly top3!

i love those recaps. they help sooo much. keep them coming.

But what amazes even more is that not only players can really start earning money by playing starcraft; in our days it's also possible for casters, eventmanagers and other people to make money with SC 2. Last fall german caster HomerJ announced that he will try make a business out of his passion and at first I couldn't believe it. And... seems to work out even in country like Germany.

lol cruncher beat sjow T_T

I just happened to catch goody on a tournament stream a few days and boy has he gotten better. He actually looked incredibly scary as opposed to somewhat gimmicky (not sure if it's the right word) before.
|
Aweseome idea. This makes it easier to follow all this events and also easier to follow the development of the foreign scene. Thumbs up TL
|
Crazy amount of information. I tried to do something similar a few years ago and I know how much time it takes. Huge props and thanks to you for doing this.
|
goody's mech is incredible, he is one terran who isnt scared to play outside of the box no matter what that takes
|
Incredible work, thanks
I have a feeling that Goody will defend his first place for the next roundup winning Sennheiser Cup+Zotac Cup this weekend :D

Giving out $44,000 in 2 weeks time that did not have any of the true heavy hitters... damn. SC2 just continues to grow and grow!
So awesome to watch and be right in the middle of it here on TL. :D
|
Always looking forward to this write-up. Great stuff. Thanks
|
hmm there are obviously so much more events, but very nice roundup
|
This writeup is crazy, seriously. Some ESPN quality right there!
I love the quote about goody, though i dont remember 100% how it went.
"Goody never attacks, he just keeps on taking bases. The opponent will go crazy while he is perfectly comfortable playing two hour games"
|
For what its worth there was also a PAX tourney with Pokebunny beating ThisIsJimmy in the final (casted by Day9+husky+sotg crew) but I don't think there's VoDs or anything. He won a bunch of computer components but no one even knew there was a prize until later.

Anyone else looking at the bottom of their TSL3 Ro32 bracket and starting to worry a little bit? I have NesTea going for a couple rounds, but I would kind of rather see GoOdy hulk smash. . .

Unfortunately, I can't cover tournaments in which the tournament organizers themselves don't cover. There are many cups and tournaments which fail to report results, dates, or prizemoney distribution. Events not included were either improperly managed, failed to report results, or didn't have a significant prize pool (This varies dependant on tournament type). If you feel I've genuinely missed something, go ahead and shoot me a PM, but chances are it wasn't included for one of the reasons I just listed.

Thank you for this. I've been wanting these kind of news posts and now it seems like you are going to update them on a regular basis. Thank you, thank you.
