[SC2B] Nerf Talk
April 10th, 2010 02:58 GMT
Hot on the heels of Episode #4, Sean "Day[9]" Plott's Team Liquid Beta Cast returns with a 50+ minute episode featuring Jonathan "FrozenArbiter" Walsh aka Liquid`Jinro as a guest caster once again.
This week, chatter on the forums has mostly been about the massive changes that the last patch brought in, and this episode picks up there, with these two top players discussing how these nerfs affect gameplay in general. Has ZvZ changed for the better? Are Thors viable in different situations now? What games should you guys be watching this week? Answers to all this and more, inside!
How to Listen to Ogg Vorbis The format of the podcast has been changed from mp3 to ogg. Here is a list of software that plays ogg on windows, mac and linux. Almost all media players (with the exception of Apple products) will be able to play Vorbis with no additional requirements.

i don't think that's true? it doesn't bypass the shields

i like that its embedded into the page. before i would hate downloading a file or whatever and listening to it on my own time. having it on the page makes it so much more easier for me and more liikely for me to listen to it

Day 9, wherever I look you pop up.. how do you manage to be everywhere at once?
I like your cast, but you both were very unsure about the effects of the voidrays for all 3 matchups. As Jinro pointed out, Voids are now really strong in pvt because they are 150% better vs rines. So you can really keep the terran busy while expanding as a protoss now. And be a real thread.
In PvZ they kill a queen much easier => also have an effect on this matchup. I am not sure yet if they effect pvp in any means.
Anyways I would be pleased if you talk about the patch, that you know what the patch has changed.
I like podcasts as much as the next guy, but I much prefer reading, so I'm a little saddened at the lack of articles
Agree with the lurkers. :p

Also need 100 gas which is why Koll went early double geysers those game and then takes off gas after getting 100 gas.

NOOOOOO the pizza
Anyone know how to get this on IPod?
Thanks for offering the MP3 as well. My stupid mp3 player doesn't support OGG, so this saves me one conversion step. Good job!
Nice podcast, I'm gonna give that immediate lair before queen thing a go.
After the new patch, I've been waiting for time to listen to this. =)
Thank you for hosting both ogg and MP3. Now I don't have to convert it to go on my iPod.
Great podcast once again!
Does anyone know when this 5k (!) smuft vs idra is going to be played?
I felt this podcast wasn't on par with the previous one. Can't exactly find why, it just felt less enjoyable.
The debate was a bit random, seems the plan was to comment the changes of the last patch but because of the numerous disgression some changes were only loosely commented or answered with some "i don't know comment".
At the end of the podcast i couldn't really remember what your reactions were to the patch changes.
Can't pinpoint what felt wrong, at least to me.
I think that D9 and Jintro probably talk quite well in private manner, aka skype/vent, but this podcast does not flow well.
The segway between topics felt like nails on a chalkboard.
MOAR !
i was expecting more of this

Great stuff. I haven't been able to find any a feed for these podcasts. It'd be great usability wise if that could be added. Plus, results in Google Listen for "starcraft" are pretty awful. If there are feeds then adding the appropriate link rel alternate links in the HTML would enable rss aware browsers to make there existence apparent to the user.

I agree (though I actually haven't listened to this one), we didn't have as much of a plan of what to talk about this time as the last + lack of sleep made me a bit unfocused >_<

Poor Bastard. I salute the pizza.
Anyways, great cast as always - intellectual and somewhat humours. Looking forward to the next one.

Oh yeah! On my way to work...
-"What's that you listening to, man? The Dodgers game?!" -"Pfffft! This is Day[9]Daily!!!"
xD

Nice podcast again . Although i do agree with whats been said earlier about a bit of unfocused and weird flow of the cast, it was still enjoyable. Recommend just first jumping into the patch changes, wrapping that up, then continue with other stuff, ie: certain matchups you tried out, new tourneys, weird news, etc etc
Is there a way to get an RSS feed to subscribe via our favorite music player.. for whenever you release these great podcasts!
The part with the pizza was very funny. I also have the tendency to forget things in the microwave. I almost managed to burn the down our house once this way. :D
