i feel like flash will probably try to beat kwanro while exposing as few strategies as possible in case of a flash vs. jaedong finals

Btw why is it that zergs like Zero, Hyun (who actually won), and Calm, especially Calm, have been able to challenge Flash so much whereas JD, who's still obviously better, got raped that badly

Flash and Jeadon are very similar in their playing style: Solid, highly predictable game plans and god like mechanics, always doing the good solid standard strategic decision. Rarely doing anything unpredictable and only when they can afford it to fail.

So the way to beat them is to throw something at them that really really surprises them, and they don't know how to deal with it. Which is asking a lot, since their mechanics can pull them through a lot of trouble.

And Zero and Calm are about the opposite. Sure thy still have very good mechanics (they are pro after all), but that is not what their game is about, they are all about decision making and mind games and predicting the opponent. When they win, it is not because the opponent can't keep up mechanically, it is because he can't keep up mentally. So they are players that can throw something unexpected at even the best of the best and throw them off guard. Problem with this play style is, it can backfire. While it allows you to beat opponents that beat everyone else, it also often leads to you beating yourself for your opponent. Godlike mechanics stay godlike just by regular practice, which is hard, but simple. Staying ahead of everyone mentally is a constant struggle and challenge through, with a lot of dead ends and failures. And replays make sure that good strategies you came up with can be analyzed easily and allows your opponents to prepare for them.

i loved the way you wrote it all hahaha

and everybody seems to forget about the fact that this is going (at least it's the most favorable to happen) for a Jaedong X Flash finals that will be perfect....

The chance of JD vs Flash is so high that it's definitely going to end up being Kwanro vs Kal or Kwanro vs Jaedong instead. And then no more MSL in the future when they can't find a sponsor next time.

Really hoping for a JD vs Flash finals so that JD can punish his ass for cheesing him. : D But also because I don't wanna see a Kwanro JD finals, because that would just be rediculous.

Its sponsored by NATE. Its going to be Kwanro vs Jaedong (with Kwanro winning and no one giving a shit and fanboys screaming "Poor Jaedong ;_;" in the LR thread) or Kwanro vs Kal (where no one cares about either player).

Personally hoping for Kwanro to win the MSL because he's a really cool guy if we ignore the crazy eyes.

nice recap.

minor correction: I think Jaedong went overpool instead of 9 pool. overpool is where you build a spawning pool after your second overlord spawns. it gives you later lings but a slightly better economy than a 9 pool.

I really hope Jaedong and Flash will advance to the finals. Even though I'm a big fan of Jaedong, this would be the one time I really don't care that much who wins, if only all the games are great. Seeing how great Flash has played this season, he actually really deserves both and OSL and MSL win, IMO, just like I thought Jaedong deserved it last time, even though he "only" won the OSL.

Also, if it wasn't caught already, I'm pretty sure Flash went 6 fac push and not 5 fac.

I think Flash vs Kwanro is going to be rather one sided

Jaedong vs Kal will be good though

My predictions:

Flash 3-0 Kwanro
Jaedong 3-1 Goojila
Flash 3-1 Jaedong

My wishes:
Flash 3-1 Kwanro
Jaedong 2-3 Goojila
Flash 3-2 Goojila

I'm probably the only non STX fan pulling for a Flash/Kal finals here. Not only because I like TvP more than TvZ, but because I think it will be a more enjoyable series overall. Flash steamrolled Jaedong in the OSL and I have no reason to believe he won't do the same here.

Kwanro vs Kal would probably generate better games. Jaedong vs Flash would not live up to the hype and the nerd-rage would be unbearable. Whatever the finals are, at least it'll be better than the OSL finals.

That's not what he's saying. Flash has the best matchup streak of 22 straight wins (in TvT). Jaedong is currently on a 12 game streak in a match up (ZvP). If he 3-0s kal he will be at 15 straight wins, and then he said "After which he will go on to win another 8 ZvPs straight" which would be 23 straight wins in ZvP, breaking Flash's winstreak in a specific match up.
