Pretend you're Hemingway. Parentheticals? Who needs them. Adverbs? Gone. Short, punchy sentences will get you where you need to be! (I'm a fan of punchy academic writing, too, and always try to get my students to stop being flowery without reason. I guess I'm fighting highschool English teachers on that one.) Edit: stupid typos. | ||
