I don't think you did. I'm posting more out of desire for clarification than as a correction but wouldn't the passive voice be "some damage was caused to Iris' SCV line"? There is no subject (who caused the damage), only an object (Iris' SCV line), which is in the subject position of the sentence. Your sentence, "The goliath were able to cause some damage to Iris' SCV line", may not be to arb's taste, but is perfectly gramatical, other than that the plural of Goliath is Goliaths I think.

Loved it otherwise!

Personally I would replace "some" with a more prominent/colorful adjective.

For example:

The goliath(s) were able to cause marginal damage to Iris' SCV line

The goliath(s) were able to cause notable damage to Iris' SCV line

Just one minor comment on your write-up: I really have to disagree with the whole mindset that "2nd place is for losers." I know that pro-gamers and many of you here disagree with me - but I look at silver medalists from this perspective: "You are the absolute best in the world..with the exception of ONE PERSON."

Now obviously this isn't always literally true, but there really was only one player who managed to best them over the course of that given tournament. For a complex, high-stakes and competetive environment like pro-StarCraft - I think that says a lot.

And I'm pretty sure the plural of goliath is goliath. If it isn't, it should be.
