Basically, day 1 there's 8 town and 3 mafia town has 2 mislynches before it's even game point (at 4town:3mafia). Assuming 1 of each: Day 1 medic claims (since he can protect himself) and has everyone pm roles to him, and then if there are any counterclaims in the roles then he can assign the roles to figure out which one is mafia, such as have cop claims investigate one another or vigi claims hit one another. If all mafia claim town, then day 1 is a random lynch of a townie, and with 4 power roles, that leaves 4 townies and 3 mafia. Medic has vig hit a random towny and has detective investigate another one hoping for a guilty. At worst, town mislynches a green and vigi hits a green and mafia hits a power role, but that leaves 5:3 with 2 town and 3 mafia left, and with those odds, including a veteran, town should be able to win still. If there's a counter claim to medic, then lynch one, and then have vigi hit the other one and then vigi claim, etc, mafia would lose numbers quickly by ccing roles. As you can see, with two mislynches and 3 mafia, town should pretty much win, unless the number of each role is not known, in which case I'd have to think a little more lol. | ||

Also the number of roles and setup was unknown. No one knew that it was only GF/Medic/DT which also made the game more fun. | ||

EDIT: That's just one scenario that could play out. You could have a medic only game in this format theoretically. The semi-openness is what makes it balanced. It's very hard for a semi-open format to be broken by a massclaim because you can have as many or as little of each role. | ||

@vx70GTOJudgexv, yeah that's why i said if the number of roles was known it would be totally imba. technically anyone can claim, i dunno why i said medic, but the vet claiming also works. | ||
