With how much you played with trfel it is just weird for an early read.

I honestly don't think I mind the read as much as the first and last line. The arguments itself suggest he's pretty certain ("hard for me to see her... be mafia") yet both the first and last sentence seed doubt about his own argument and make it more likely it's ignored.
