I'm still catching up with the game and there's something that's bugging me:

Why is it that every single person in the game is scumreading the newbies/low post count players? It's like the same shit every game, where there's like a bunch of inactives and everybody jumps onto them and then everybody looks happy and friendly and town together.

And then all the inactives/newbies end up flipping town and everyone feels retarded because you circlejerked and made the same lists 50 billion times and reinforced the notion of lynching inactives/weak players. I think we need to start looking for the people that are mimicking those lists because that's the kind of stuff that lost town the game in Order. Scum just wound up latching onto the "purge the inactive/useless players" speil and that's pretty much exactly what's happening here. I can already tell you that I'm town, and in case you forgot my interaction with rayn, there's exactly 0 chance that I'm scum with him.

Batsnacks and Teemu wound up being blue, so we got kind of lucky. We don't really have to worry about them turning up on a bajillion lists anymore, but that doesn't erase the fact that VA and me are going to wind up being listed 50 bajillion times throughout this game.

I'll try posting some reads and shit I guess, but don't expect a lot. What I will say, in terms of analysis, is that Palmar dying basically tells us that scum is hiding in the highly actives. Sitting around and pointing out how people's filters are really big is a complete and utter waste of our time, imo. Even if you don't agree with my night kill analysis, I still believe that's where the "these scrubs need to die" train started.

Also, Koshi, whenever we somehow manage to be in the thread at the same time I'd really like to talk to you.

I don't see a single reason to vote vayne other than the fact that he really hasn't done anything.

And it's still pretty early, so I don't want to until later at the very least. He looks like he's been acting the exact same way during Order so idrk.

Besides, that claim doesn't make sense to make as scum. You get rid of a confirmed town and die immediately after, and a 1 for 1 trade is never good for mafia. Town lies for bad/stupid reasons, like taking a hit or what the fuck ever, so I don't see the claim as alignment indicative unless he's actually going to stick with it and waste our time lynching him for nothing.

If you actually think he's scum, then you need reasons and a case. A nonsensical counterclaim is not a case.

I'll explain to you why Vayne is mafia.

Vayne rescinded his claim right when batsnacks claimed. Vayne's intention was never to square off in a 1v1. It was to force the vig to come out and then rescind the claim. His mafia partner will try to argue that this is not a scum move, so that Vayne gets off scot-free. The end result is that vig is forced to claim, and Vayne doesn't look any worse for it, which is exactly what is happening right now.

The reason why mafia need to make this play is because if they shoot VTs at night, they lose. We have 4 roles alive and a vested VT. That's 5 potentially confirmed town. There are 4 VTs left. The only mislynch that can happen today is on a VT because a role would simply claim. With 3 VTs left, if mafia shoot 2 of them, we mass claim and then the game ends in a town victory. So the only thing mafia can do to survive until the next day is to reliably kill a role. That's why Vayne fakeclaimed and then rescinded.

If Vayne was town, there would be no point to fakeclaiming. The only outcome of fakeclaiming is that the real role will counter claim you. We're not talking about a new player here; we're talking about Vayne, who is an expert in this field, fakeclaimed many times before, and knows exactly what was going to happen.

No, that doesn't make any sense.

That just means mafia counterclaims later for real. There's nothing stopping mafia from counterclaiming a spent vigilante later on because he has no way to confirm himself besides his one shot. If batsnacks had another shot, he could just shoot VA at night if he was seriously counterclaiming and then the counterclaim being serious still doesn't make any sense.

Also, you have no idea what the blue roles do. For all you know, they could be a bunch of BoxeRs. The chance of having a bunch of counterclaim wars in LYLO, if we ever get to it, is incredibly high provided the roles don't get completely wiped out.
