The leader selecting 4 players on D3 and 4 is a mechanic of the game and must be included.

Edit: The idea is that it increases the risk of sending the same successful team throughout the game, forcing the leaders to consider other players that haven't been on successful missions.

What do you suggest for day 5? I'm curious why the hosts of Resistance 2 did it differently from the Wikipedia reference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Resistance_(game), which recommends 3,4,4,5,5 for each consecutive day, respectively.

hi.

That was done to make the game a little easier since the spy team wrecked resistance 1, since everyone was so lost.

Read the pre-game chatter in Tunnel rats, lots of confusion about the first game, what they we're meant to be doing ect.

wooooo first.

I'll pick a team consisting of people who are actively involved in the game and look town. I'd like to think i'm pretty good at finding townies, and I only need to find two since I'll be including myself in the team.

So which grack am I getting this game?

Yes. I found it pretty trolly.

Can I expect more of the same here?

Hmm..i disagree with rayn about voting usually being anonymous. I guess my friends play with weird rules. I'm used to IRL voting where a choice is selected with a hidden tile and then revealed all at once, then votes are tallied and you know who voted for what and have that as information to analyze.

Adam I went looking, didnt see you play in resistance 1 or 2. derp you cohosted 2. I also saw this and now I'm a little sad

Anyways, do you think there is ever a scenario where the leader SHOULDNT send themselves on a team?

Yes, the scenario that springs to mind for me is when the entire town has someone labelled as scum and its their turn to lead, then its in their best interest to remove themselves from the team and send their top 3 townreads, as it'll just be downvoted if they include themselves. Chances are their team is getting downvoted anyway since people aren't going to trust their team, but if they send 3 people I have town reads on, I really don't care who suggests it.

I agree with rayn. In Resistance 2 I picked BH and VE, two really town seeming guys (I think we even had 2/3 of the scumteam at that point), but I wasn't trustworthy so Sent-BH-VE got rejected.

I don't think there's anything scummy about picking 3 people everyone or almost everyone thinks is town, even if you're not one of those 3.

Lets suppose at least 1 of those 3 go on to fail a mission. Are you, as leader, culpable in the failure?

It should be a consideration, not a slam dunk.

But there is at least one spy on the team, that is concrete information. So you look at the leaders motivations for sending each person on the team.

Adam if you needed to decide the team now who'd you pick?

If I had to send a team right this second - i'd be sending myself, hopeless and probably yourself.

The way hopeless approached the 'leaders voting putting themselves on teams' showed more conviction and confidence than his entire filter in LXIII. While I might not agree with what he was saying, he explained himself well.

You seem pretty invested in the game so far, not afraid to attack people and make waves. Your thoughts on what has been discussed up until now seem to mirror my own so that bodes well for you being town.

VE, do you intend on doing something other than one-liners this game?

Day 1: Phase 1

Mission Leader Adam4167 must propose a team of 3 players to head the first mission. He may include himself. The mission will fail if there is at least 1 sabotage.

If the mission leader proposes a team in this thread, it is FINAL. We will immediately move to phase 2 of Day 1.

Ok, let me ask a simple question so the scummers can look like they are contributing.

How does the voting thingie work?
1) Leader proposes team. (Phase 1)
2) All peepz vote yay or nay, majority wins? (Phase 2)
3) if nay we go back to Phase 1 with new leader, if yay we go into nightphase.

Am I correct?

I believe that to be the case, yes. Majority wins. If not, we go back to phase 1.

Frankly, I don't see anything in your filter that gives me the slightest clue to your alignment.

Which in itself is probably a tell.

Do something useful instead of professing your towniness repeatedly.

Ill be downvoting any team that includes koshi on it.

He says he wants to send people that are active, so he adds VE to his proposed team, who had a grand total of 5 lines to his filter at that point. He wants to take hopeless out of the team because he might lurk, yet VE is completely fine with 5 lines. He theorizes me and grack are scum, pushing a townie hopeless to take the fall for the mission failure, yet still removes hopeless from his team.

I do not like that.

I am going to stick to my proposed team of myself, hopeless and rayn. Ill submit it after I have a shower and throw down a fistful of painkillers for this hangover.

Don't know what yall are seeing in VE's filter that'd be worth sending him on a mission.

Rayn, don't be thick. I asked the host if my submission of the team counted as a yay from me, he said yes, so there was no reason for me to vote.

When I went to bed there were 3 yes votes and no one was contesting my team, so what was I to discuss? I'm not going to bark at the people that have voted yes, their votes are in, and they've already done their bit. For everyone else, I was waiting for them to bring their objections to the thread to discuss with them. If they had no objections, there was nothing to discuss and they'd vote yes.

The level of resistance this team is facing is what I'd expect from an all town team. I'll almost certainly vote yes, but we've got 4 hours still, may as well use it to discuss.

I'll assume yay unless you type nay for whatever reason.

How do you not read this and assume that I am yay voting my own team?

If i had to send a 4th member, sentinel or maybe cora.

Level of resistance? The team has already passed lol.

Only just by the looks of it. 5-4 is all i'd expect from a town team. If it had gone over in a landslide, then I'd know i'd fucked up.

I've consulted with a few people and I'm going to make everyone vote, regardless of their status of mission leader. As I have changed this rule on the fly, it will not take effect until after Day 1 ends. However, in the interest of documentation, I would like to request Adam to formally vote on the team thread.

You have already "voted yes" so why the sudden hesitation?

I am not hesitant. I said I am almost certainly voting yes. My god. ARE YOU EVEN READING.

We have the time, why would we not use it.

Why would an all town team have no resistance? Wouldn't it be the other way around, with spies coming in to start something and try and get a different team into play?

There hasn't been no resistance. We have 4 people voting no or declaring they're going to vote no. Thats a team passing by the smallest of margins.
