I'm still not even convinced Xmithie is going to be any good but if CLG thought he performed well in the tryouts, its gotta be because he showed something. He had a pretty lackluster showing in some of the challenger tournaments he played.

Wouldn't read too much into this, since hopefully xmithie is somewhat better than thinkcard.

Ofc there is. While there's nothing wrong with having a carry player who's medicore individually, but if that individually average at best carry forces your team to play around him every game - then you as a team is basically hopeless

I dunno how you can look at game 2-4 and say that DL forced his team to play around him. rofl.

That's what's wrong with the protect the dlift style - it doesn't work and CLG knows it. The protect the dlift style you described fundamentally doesn't work because it relies on a medicore carry to win.

Back when CJ Blaze was in their one trick warhorse days, I wrongly used to not give flame enough credit. People would rave about how he would get 100+ cs up on his lane opponent and carry his team on his back and I'd think you guys give him too much credit, his team allows him to be useless for 30 min so he can do that.

Doublelift is living proof that I was wrong, not everyone can do what Flame was doing, and like Kupon3ss said, at this point they have to know that it doesn't work I'm not sure why they keep going back to it.

they go back to it, because when they play any other style, everyone else on the team falls apart.

how is that different from doing it and losing?

be very specific, no cliche allowed.

Did you watch the games? It sort of worked out for them impact wise. DL was doing the damages, but late game shotcalling is still an issues. Running that specific strategy is fine, it's not like they were lacking the tools to win the game by running it. Their losses came from people getting caught out that shouldn't of been getting caught out, misplaying early teamfights where the ADC is still weak, bad lategame calls, etc etc.

of course he did good in tryouts when there isn't anyone else to compete with.
They didn't approached any other lcs/good talents they just looked at the people wo send them a message. Thats the reason they again took link.

For real? Didn't they scout for anyone (assuming they have anything resembling a scouting team)?
Makes you appreciate how SKT scouted Faker and modeled a team around him.
Although in NA it'll probably be harder since 3/4 of the top 10 are all Turtle and his smurfs and the rest all established pros.

Because there is no junglers in NA comparable to Meteos, lol.
They tried out Thinkcard and Inori who're both considered to be as top-2 youngsters in the jungle for the region, and while one is just bad, second is known tilter who is playing with Chaox and Lactea top now in China.

Turtle and Pobelter are holding 7/10 or something spots in NA challenger top-10, who cares about it.

fucking CLG and Doublelift playing like newcomers when its matters.

Someone like P1noy can't win the lane against Doublelift under right circumstances. Oh well, my heart aches.

yeah I get that a lot of people are complaining about the sloppy play this series but it was definitely the most enjoyable in a very long time for me to watch.

the korean model is kind of different in two ways. first, they get kids at 16 or 17, as early as they get out of high school, and send them straight to 16 hour a day practice sweatshop. it's hard to do that in NA, and it is not good for the player either. second, the ladder and amateur scene is more developed. faker is a can't miss prospect because besides the really high ladder score he also participated in a lot of amateur tournaments with a bunch of amateur teams. skt isn't that good at scouting, they just throw around their weight and get the best youngster out there.
